It's stupid convoluted from my understanding. I've had to pay back the last 6~7 years, and yet this year when the wifey finally gets a full time job with her bsn we get back from the government. Makes no sense to me but I'm not an accountant and ecstatic to hear otherwise so whatever lol.

Only made a little bit more from last year but for first time I owe $1500. Fuckers I'm poor and already paid a bunch. So my actual take home income this year is lower than last year despite making a tad more. Apparently part of that is they gave me too much credits for insurance... to the point where looks like it might have been better just to take the hit on not having any gdi. And it's saying I might have to pay some estimate penalty da fuq

So looking back at previous apparently I had a bit less taken out this year... but that still doesn't account for it all the difference. Like the total federal owed this year is still a good $800 or so. As far as I can tell from filling it out I got dinged a bunch for insurance but not sure why it's that fucking much when I only made a little more this year. Might just have to eat the penalty next year if I'm still gunna get dinged that hard while still paying for insurance

That's what I did. I took the bullet since it hurt less than saying I have it. I don't make much but it's either that or get randomly audited and sent to jail for tax evasion.
