You can revisit the infinite forest for adventures and heroic adventures, but that's pretty much it. It's pretty irritating thinking how much time they probably spent creating it for it to not be that big a part of the game.
And yeah, given how small Mercury is, it's even more irritating thinking how much space we can't normally access.
I was taking a 2nd character through the Mercury story yesterday and noticed how much of the intro to the planet is not playable. Could have added a ton of space to the public map.
Ugh, so much wasted potential, they could have the infinite forest be a dynamically shifting patrol zone, or a separate end game activity by itself using different tile sets, including the past/future mercury assets.
Given how small everything is and the recycled exotics and stuff, I think I'm willing to give Bungie the benefit of the doubt that they only spent 12 weeks on this.
I'm a bit less cynical than Obsidian, but there's a reason CoO doesn't address a lot of the criticisms the community has had since D2 released (ignoring the insane things like 'let's go back to the D1 weapon loadouts'). CoO was definitely in development before the release of D2 (and probably closer to done than not), but that's partially due to the way game development and certification works. I think I've read it's a one to three month process for a game, plus being scheduled in advance, so they would have finished vanilla D2 some time before it reached us and moved onto CoO. At the same time, if we go by that as well, CoO was probably finished some time ago as well, save for minor tweaks and adjustments. I imagine some parts of it were added on and changed in response to feedback from launch (I'm thinking things in tomorrow's patch like the masterworks were created in the past three months), but most of this was in development before anyone had played D2.
All that said, again, when I look at the fact that the Infinite Forest is not just another zone but has that additional randomness feature which would have had to have been developed, I can't help having questions about how Bungie's time is being spent. I just can't see the Infinite Forest as a worthwhile time investment given some of the glaring deficiencies with CoO (just on a basic level, how tiny the patrol zone for Mercury is).
I really really don't like redoing any of the story on this game for alts
Homey I'm talking about the base game for my other characters lmao. Nvm the expansion haha

Is doing the story really required? I'd imagine it'd just be more fun just to level through PVP. Unless all those activities are restricted behind story, in that case ugh I dont even want to think about it.
You need to do at least part of the story to unlock PVP.
I wouldn't be able to stand doing only PVP to level. I dislike Crucible. I don't mind doing the missions over, especially since they award exotics and decent legendaries along the way.
Got the trials scout from clan package.
Explosive Rounds Mida class? I'm all about that life.
Can't seem to find it anywhere, but did the reset get moved to another day?
No, just later on Tuesdays. 9AM PST I think.
Same day, different time. Reset is at 1pm est, I believe.
Hey Six can someone give me admin access so I can invite people to the clan if needed?
I am pretty active on pc, would be good to have another admin.
Thanks
So me and some of my trials buddies started a trials/pvp focused clan. Looking to recruit. Need to have at least a positive k/d, so not a super sweat or anything. I know it can be rough if you play with terrible pvp guys a lot.
Shoot me a message on psn @Gadritan420 and I'll toss ya an invite.
