Was trying to get one last powerful reward before reset last night so decided to hop on Warlock to do Flashpoint. Got two levels, from 20 to 22, just from doing the pubs and a couple lost sectors while completing the Flashpoint. Was surprised it was that fast. Seemed quicker than doing the missions. Got two exotics that were good upgrades to my gear. Went from 296 or so to 307.

I can, but who are you inviting that you can't just send them a link? Like 6souls said, we're over 90 people, so I'm a little hesitant about just inviting random people you raided with once or twice -- but I'm fine opening that up to discussion.

Prestige Leviathan will be brought back down to level 300 (as will it's drops -- so running old raids is back to being worthless..), Trials will only require CoO when it's a CoO map, prestige nightfall is still 330, they're looking to add a third difficulty tier that is set at the max light level for each expansion (duh..), time limited events will be available to all players (trials, faction rallies, etc), and faction rallies are delayed due to this.

They're also looking to add modifiers to heroic strikes, which again, duh..

It is funny that Heroic Adventures have modifiers but strikes don't lol

Also, Gad, if I didn't do so much PvE I would consider swapping. :/ I would like to get into a regular groove with PvP.

I mean I can understand the annoyance of the change to the Raid power level. For PC, the game was released about 6 weeks ago and not everyone has had a chance to run it, my self included. If people did not have as much play time they may not have the power level yet. If it was more time between the release and the power level increase it may have gone over better.

Then again, I don't care because I bought CoO anyway. It's really just the people that don;t want to buy the expansion.

I think Bungie was attempting to respond to a D1 criticism without thinking of how it affected a small portion of the population which ended up being very vocal. Ignoring the trophy/achievement issue (which, w/e..) I get that players who did not purchase the DLC were upset that they lost the ability to do the prestige raid. However, the problem is that going back to the D1 system makes the content irrelevant for anyone who purchased the expansion -- why would you spend an hour+ doing the Leviathan when you can do any other event for gear that will get you to 300? Maybe it's different in D2, but I think the playerbase that did not purchase the DLC is far smaller than the outrage suggested -- ever with the ability to infuse, ever try running King's Fall in Y3 before Aot?

The simple solution is to offer a third option, which doesn't seem like it'd be that hard since they've already made the power level changes and what not.. but what do I know.

Why don't they just add a third tier to the old raid?

Did they say what other balancing changes they're doing? Like the Prometheus Lens? lol

It's all the stuff they promised a week before the update: masterwork weapons, vendors selling weapons and armor, Xur's new exotic engram and three of coins, the consumable from Shaxx and Zavala, and probably some other stuff I can't remember.

Lens is getting patched today, but it is getting a strong nerf until they have a chance to really balance it:
As ‘Laser Tag’ weekend comes to a close, we’re making good on our promise to address the fact that Prometheus Lens is way too powerful. Sure it’s fun, but it breaks the Crucible for anyone who wants to use a different weapon. Given the short window we had to make an emergency fix, it will be adjusted to be way too weak. In January, this new Exotic will receive a proper, play-tested design pass.

Yes. There is no separate balance for PVP with these devs.

Didn't the math say Coldheart was still better anyway?

I know it's a common criticism from the playerbase, but I don't fully follow what people want when they want separate PvE/PvP balance.. Also, as someone who bounces between PvE and PvP, I like that my weapons perform similarly. It already takes me a minute to adjust to the different movement abilities when I switch between classes, I'm glad I don't have to adjust to weapons feeling different as well.

As someone who doesn't care about PvP, I want to do powerful things. Something that is fair (or semi-OP) in PvE shouldn't be nerfed to garbage tier because it's dominating PvP. What's the point of exotics if they're just going to feel the same as Legendary items? Gjallarhorn was fun in D1 because of how powerful it was.

    Just my 2 Glimmer.

My problem with that position is that ignores that, from day one, Destiny has been a game with PvE and PvP where players could seamlessly take their character from one activity to the other and have the same gameplay experience.

Also, Ghorn was nerfed because it was too powerful in PvE, so..

Easy solution would be not making the light level increase DLC-exclusive.

Increased light level doesn't benefit you at all in Destiny. Your effectiveness is capped at whatever the light level for the activity is. Increasing the cap every time is just a cheap way to force people to buy the DLC and block players who don't from equipping the new gear, which can be accomplished other ways.

You could say that about any expansion to a level cap for a game, minus the light level effectiveness. Adding levels to a game is a way to create false difficulty and separate the players that paid for the expansion to get the new gear and do the new activities from those that didn't.

We could have played FFXI at 50 cap for years, but increasing the level let them add in new skills, armor, weapons, and activities that you wouldn't be able to access if you didn't have the expansion.
