Good on them. For every player of Destiny 2, we’ll be releasing all of the new Crucible Maps being developed for Warmind into matchmaking. The same goes for the maps we released with Curse of Osiris. To keep the community in the Crucible unified, everyone will see new arenas in matchmade playlists like Quickplay, Competitive, Trials of the Nine, Iron Banner, as well as the new weekly rotators that include Rumble and Mayhem. That means more opponents for everyone.
Sucks for the cheapskates, but it's reasonable. With the arrival of Private Matches, players will need to purchase each Expansion to have exclusive access to play those Crucible maps with other players in a private match.
Weekly Update:

Warmind reveal stream on April 24, changing the player damage curve to be closer to D1 (so if you're under-leveled, you'll feel it more), and IB next week now (the one we didn't get this week -- no mention if this is the last one of the season).
Interesting theory that I hope holds true.
Highly, highly doubt they'll add a new enemy in one of these "cheap" DLCs. That'll be in the big Fall expansion thing they inevitably do, if happens at all.
Anyone for 6-stacking IB this week?
Only took what, 7-8 months to make Exotic weapons worth a damn.
Hopefully Graviton Lance's improvement is indicative of the overall changes to Exotic weapons and not one of the highlights. It's too bad the Armors got pushed back because a lot of those are really fucking bland too.
Weekly update is a day early:

Rat King preview:
Lulz..
Soft cap (cap you can hit from any activity) is 340 for Warmind, and the hard cap (cap from weekly reward sources) is 380. From the sounds of it, raids and trials will provide the largest increase while other activities will be less rewarding, and they're saying it'll take a several weeks to hit the max, even doing all the weekly activities. Specifically:
Also, they're changing it so you can't just farm exotic engrams to boost your level.Players who don't participate in any group weekly activities are unlikely to hit the hard cap before the next release; dedicated omnivore players will hit it before players that just play Raids or Trials exclusively. Additionally, the final 10 points from 370 to 380 will be significantly slower than 340 to 370; we expect it to take players roughly equal time to go from 340 to 370 as from 370 to 380.
tl;dr: Leveling is going to be harder, have to do endgame content to actually hit cap.
Catching up to D1 more and more with each update. Maybe in a couple years we'll get a proper sequel.
i really wish this game hadn't ruined so much of the communities confidence, cause as fun as this looks, I know it'll be just like D1 where even if i return none of my friends are going too and its going to get boring. Not to mention, I'm simply not willing to spend another $40 on top of what I've already disappointingly paid for an expansion to have a decent game to play that is mildly better or still slightly worse than D1.
Ana Bray audio log has been moved to the air duct because it's original placement was the cause for the Black Screen when entering the tower. Bungie has confirmed that D2 will follow the same DLC model as D1 with the Summer DLC to be a full package like Taken King. Bungie revealed this info while advertising a charity campaign where a new emblem will be rewarded with the Summer DLC.
I know I've harped on this before, and it undoubtedly comes across as a Bungie-apologist, and I admit Bungie deserves their share of blame, but most of the changes they made from D1 to D2 were based on feedback from the Destiny community. Making leveling easier, the removal of random rolls, the changes to the weapon load-outs, and a lot of other changes can be traced back to issues that the community bitched about incessantly back in D1.
And the community's inability to acknowledge their role in D2's shortcomings is so infuriating to me.
I really think everything boils down to that change to leveling, which I always questioned since TTK because I saw it making max power too early, particularly when they added guaranteed progression drops from the raid.
Everything is just small beans complaints that only become prevalent because people want to bitch.
I hope to see you guys back come May 8th. BG is so empty. especially on pc.
The problem is by Rise of Iron they had a lot of the mechanics reasonably un-fucked and then threw it all away to start with a fresh disaster in Destiny 2. Nobody asked for weapon loadout changes, they wanted weapon balancing. People didn't like random rolls but the system they replaced it with completely destroyed the replayability of the game because duplicates served zero purpose (an issue they acknowledged before the game even launched and have *still* not found an answer for. So why did they do it in the first place?). A lot of the actual criticism was of Bungie itself, not Destiny, and they utterly failed to address any of it (infrequent updates, infrequent and infuriatingly vague communication, Microtransactions, game balancing). Only recently have they begun to show signs of improvement in any of these areas, and only because they faced such severe backlash from every corner of their fanbase. It should never have come to this in the first place.
