I enjoyed leveling my Hunter finally this weekend. My #1 complaint from D1 launch straight through until now remains the lack of an integrated social/matchmaking interface. It is still inane to me that you can have 10 guardians in the tower all wanting to do NF/Trials/Raid/etc and yet there is no way to communicate said desire easily. Carbon copy the FFXIV party finder interface or something. The third party site nonsense is just mindboggling.

How is this still a thing? It's literally the worst part about Destiny and is so fucking stupid I'm surprised anyone actually plays this game together. I liked playing but the lack of community and actual communication is fucking dumb.

For all its flaws, I kind of have the Destiny bug back after playing 6-man IB a week or so ago plus leveling my Hunter alt finally this weekend. Amped for the expansion and will definitely be going hard in the new ranked crucible post-release. Hope some of the rest of the BG crew comes back and does the same.

Reminder, IB is back this week and 6v6.

Yeah, I played IB for like 4 hours yesterday; great time. Arcstrider with Shinobu's Vow and skip grenades makes getting the chest ornament (~165? grenade or melee kills) pretty easy. Super hits count as melee kills, so you get ~5 per game on that alone.

Destiny 2 Server Maintenance
Services will be brought offline for maintenance on Tuesday, May 8, 2018. During this time, Destiny 2: Warmind, Update 1.2.0, and Hotfix 1.2.0.1 will become available to players. Please see below for the timeline of the maintenance window.

6 AM PDT (1300 UTC)
Destiny 2 server maintenance is scheduled to begin
Players may no longer sign in to Destiny 2
7 AM PDT (1400 UTC)
Players still in Destiny 2 activities will be returned to the title screen
Destiny 2: Warmind and Update 1.2.0 will be available to download and install
11 AM PDT– (1800 UTC)
Destiny 2 server maintenance is scheduled to conclude

How drops work in EP:

Three categories, vanity, weapons, and armor.
- Vanity (ghost, sparrow, ship) can drop from any chest you open, with chests from later levels having higher chances.
- Weapons (shotgun, sniper, SMG) only drop from the wave 7 boss. Three bosses have a specific drop, the remaining two can drop any of the three. Can farm them as much as you want in a given week.
- Armor drops from the chest that spawns after wave 7 which needs a charged key to open. These drops come in a specific order (class item, legs, arms, chest, head) and you won't see repeats till you have a full set.

Activision Blizzard Q1 Earnings Calls Teases that the Summer Expansion will bring a "Whole New Style of Play"

For real systemic change, the signs all suggest we're going to have to wait until the major expansion scheduled for this fall.

The latest of those signs came today during Activision Blizzard's first quarter earnings call, when the company briefly discussed its plans for the future of Destiny 2. The usual generalities came up—they want to make the player "more powerful" and the endgame "more meaningful"—but we did get one (very small) nugget of information: a new mode will be coming as part of the fall expansion, and Activision thinks it's going to be a big deal.

According to COO Coddy Johnson, the mode is "incredibly engaging" and features a "whole new style of play". That new style of play is new to "first-person shooter gaming generally," he says, not just Destiny 2.

Nothing else was said regarding the mystery mode, other than that more will be revealed at E3.
