Well it's listed as a known issue on Bungie's site and they say they're still working on MSAA optimization so I'm assuming in this case that it's less an issue with MSAA and more an issue with their engine's implementation of it.

My brother and my friend Suto Played around on the Strike map zone, broke the map in several ways, got out of bounds in a few areas... was really fun, glad to know I'll be able to break this game as bad as I broke Destiny 1. It felt like good old times glitching out of certain areas and walking around in the void.

Can't wait for the full game.

Yeah, there are Raids and Strikes. Strikes are what we've already seen. 15-20 minute "dungeons" that award loot at the end. In D1 you would get Engrams that would be decrypted to equipment when you got back to the social area. Engrams would generally roll higher than your current light level (in the demo you're LL200) so you're always progressing. By completing the various daily activities, public events (like FATES or world boss type things that spawn in the Patrols), Strikes, etc. you could upgrade your gear. I never did any of the Raids in D1 and Serra already went through that.

Played a few more rounds of control last night and had a much better time. When your team works well together, not all gathering on one point, everything plays much better. Even when we lost, the games were much closer.

I also feel much more comfortable with the game now. I think part of it was I was trying to use Sentinel the first night because I wanted to be Captain America and switched to Striker last night, but part of it is definitely getting used to the gameplay more. I was top efficiency on my team for at least 4 games, so I felt good about that, especially compared to third/bottom from the night before.

I still need a bigger desk so I can sprint and slide without tilting my keyboard over the edge of my desk and be able to move my mouse across my mouse pad without hitting my keyboard.

MSAA is a shitshow in most games honestly. SMAA and assorted Temporal AAs honestly look really good these days, I don't even know why developers bother including it as an option because it only leads to people bitching on forums about the game being unoptimized.

Just leave MSAA as something people can toggle thru the GPU control panel if they want.

Destiny 1 had (has?) the unfortunate problem of having three distinct classes inspired by traditional RPG roles that don't really fall into those roles. For instance, in D1, the Titan was supposed to be the slow knight inspired class ended up being the fastest class in the game (it was also the class which could have have the highest Hp and the speed thing was more due to player ingenuity, but still..). Your classes/subclasses are not going to be that different, at least not in the beta where gear is very limited. As a Titan, you don't actually have more defense, but you can have more Hp. The armor stat is actually misleading, as it isn't defense, but your Hp.

The first year of D1 had a larger emphasis on the endgame in that you had to do endgame activities (either PvE or PvP) to reach max level. As a result, people spent a lot of time playing the raids (and later the PvP options once they were implemented) every week (you could only get loot once a week on each character, so at most, people typically would run raids three times a week). That changed a bit in the second year when they refined the infusion system, but you still needed to run the raids for the max light level gear. In year three, it has been a lot easier to find sources of max light level gear, so the raids are less necessary. All that said, the raids are the best PvE content in the game and typically drop at least a few really good weapons, so people run them a lot. In the first few weeks, raids typically take a while as people learn the mechanics, but as time passes, good groups can knock out most raids in under an hour.

If I'm being totally honest though, the thing that kept me playing D1 as much as I did wasn't PvE, it was PvP -- but I've spent countless hours playing Halo games, so I'm slightly biased towards Bungie's PvP.

yea. I seem to die just as fast if not faster than these shmucks I am fighting. Serra did a good job explaining it below. Might as well try the other classes this evening since only reason I picked Titan was suitability.

Forgot a few things about raids and D1's endgame -- Bungie typically has done one raid for each expansion. In year one, that meant we had two raids (three if you stretch the term), but year two and year three only introduced one each. One of D1's problems was that, for most of its lifespan, there was no reason to run old raids, so players only had one raid at a time. In April(?) they introduced new mechanics and challenges to old raids as a farewell to D1, so I have some hope for the longevity of raids in D2, but we'll see. The updated infusion system, which only applied to content from year two onwards, also makes me think that D2's raids might have more longevity than D1's, but again, we'll see.

I like shoulder charge with Striker as well as the two grenade charges. I think it's better in this Beta for PvP versus Sentinel. Or at least I did better with Striker than with Sentinel.

Going to try the other classes tonight in some PvE. Have played minimal Warlock in D1 and never played Hunter at all. All my time was spent on Titan.

Because when you get all of the gear from PVE, PVP is all the game has. D1's PVP was top notch, it just didn't have the competitive component until Year 3(?) where private matches were made available. Maybe Destiny an finally become an eSport with D2.

It will not. The low tick rate of the servers is horrible for any kind of competition, and Bungie really has no desire to actually make it an esport.

Has there been any mention of either a new phone app or will they carry over the current one for moving gear/items around?
