Her Burst isn't really a heal anyway, it's actually pretty bad for that.

Her burst has a curaja command, so it's actually not terrible for healing. It just doesn't heal on entry.

3/11! No Dupes! Zidane Burst (fuck yeah lifesiphonable Imperil Wind) and 2x Vaan relics!............ His SSB1/SSB2 lol, better then nothing considering I had nothing for him, although his burst would have been nice to have as well.

Well.. it is terrible for healing

She has no Medica on entry or as a command. Her Curaja command has High regen attached but that's it, you get nothing new compared to an usual healer kit with Curaja/ProShell/whatever you wanna use.
Selphie had a great SSB (and now a great USB) at least.

Selphie's is one of the sage bursts, like Penelo. It doesn't function in realm as well as Penelo because XII has a true healer in Larsa while Selphie is VIII's dedicated healer.

Selphie gets a mind boost on entry, making those curajas pretty potent.

Not everything has to be instant cast. Even Vanille only has a good burst because it's instant.

Penelo's Burst heals on entry and has a medica command on top. Vanille also has a medica command and MND boost on entry. The issue is the lack of an AoE option not the heal potency.

Yeah but each healer also suffers from power creep. Yuna's Tiny Bee was the first healer character getting a Burst and we all know how that ended. Selphie's isn't that bad obviously but it's now quite obsolete. Yuna's BSB#2 offers the same buff potency on entry (Penelo's is actually 15% so half of Selphie's) while also providing an AoE heal command. It's a lot easier to rely on a BSB command for your party heals than waiting for a SB bar charge.
Selphie could really use a new and improved healer BSB considering she's the only one in the realm but they seem to be ignoring her for the time being (in JP). The only relic that's going to show up in the next 2 FFVIII events will be her SSB. The current Kiros/Ward event has no Selphie relics on either banner sadly.

Dollar pulled rinoa enearth ssb. Wasn't enough to make the CM team but dingus loved the armor for the apoc+.
I have the selphinator's bssb and it's certainly weird. Definitely not a healer bssb in the sense of the phrase because the tempo loss from refreshing the bssb is terrible, and it was actually too slow to get it going to dispel with on the CM. On the other hand the buff stacks with basically everything so it's extremely useful on CMs where you might be using faith or mag-only buffs, and command 1's on demand heal and regen is great. Think of it as an offhealer/utility bssb and it's surprisingly usable, even now (but it will probably limit you to one damage carry).

before i got yuna's BSB2, i used to make mage teams with yuna and selphie sharing healing duties. selphie used strange vision for the party buff and standard skills for healing, while yuna's hones were dedicated to DPS. i just dumped her SB gauge into hymn/veil, it worked out pretty well for the most part. SV is awkward to build around, but it can be quite potent if you have the pieces to make it work.
