yeah i love minfillia USB, it stacks with everything and is super handy to have for crystal tower where your hastega+boostga combos can get spread a little thin.

as for me, i never learn and like an idiot pulled on this awful banner and was rewarded with a 1/11 haurchefant BSB that will never get used

I use LD Yda with USB against Isgebind and she is amazing with it, the only downside is its not ranged, so she can miss with it if you use it when he is in the air.

Also, after a drought of 1/11s with 1 or 2 2/11 - 3/11, I finally went 4/11 on this, sadly no 6* though.

4/11: Cid Raine's SSB2, Snow SSB2, Tidus BSB2, Rikku BSB. No dupes and YES! Tidus FINALLY has a SB beyond CSB, so now I can have him use SBs during chain.

Yda's USB is actually pretty solid. Not a bad grab at all.

And yeah, Thancred's BSB2 is WAY better than his BSB1. I know he doesn't get element synergy out of it, and he probably would want to be using BSB C1 anyways, but having built in blink on your BSB2 commands helps with the ninja hones.

I'll go one further and say yda's ultra is fantastic - for 4 star magis. She's a generic dualcaster to start with. 3 phys blink is extremely relevant for isgebind and ixion. 3 powerchain monk skills is absurd value. And enfire is good vs isgebind (ixion is weird because he's so much less tanky you can get by without enelement - the real value is being able to eat random attack aerosparks where normally you might have to reload).

Think I was more pissed about the ongoing lack of FF10 synergy/water chain to be honest. Then again, I still haven't figured out how to get Liquid Flame and Bismark down due to lack of Thunder/Water soul breaks.

Damage was just pitiful and couldn't keep up with the incoming damage. Bismarck was even worse, tried running Kain with his BSB and Ultra, Lightning with OSB, and Cloud with his Ultra and spamming Quad Lightning Strike and despite being fully dived was still only hitting about 5500 damage a hit.

Yeah no you don't need more water or lightning gear (maybe plus element gear but your soul breaks are fine). It sounds like your magicites aren't leveled and don't have any element gear, but bartz and cloud ultras should be plenty for liquid flame (ref: I tried it yesterday as a test with OK nin usb and larsa burst as the only sbs and had no problem sub 30ing). Go dive your edge if he isn't dived, he's good on dark weaknesses and soon earth weaknesses. I hated using ice on liquid flame because one of the forms straight up nulls it.

Heck, edge enwatered raging waters can probably solo DPS it (you aren't using commands right?).

For bismarck 5.5k per hit with quadstrike under cloud ultra doesn't sound awful but it does sound like you aren't supporting him right (somehow not hitting atk cap, not taking right magis, not taking damage RMs, using ysh instead of a better support WHM).

Remember for liquid flame to use KO resist accessories. You can leave your fire resist at home.

For Bismarck, Leave cloud at home. Kain should be able to sub 1 min this solo if you run 2x entrusters.

Lightning - R3 Thundering Quadstrike | Thundaga Strike - OSB - Truthseeker or the other open RM you didn't use for Kain

Basically for Bismarck, I had each of the 3* lightning Magicites equipped, plus the +Crit Ice one, and can't remember who the fifth was. Obviously for Liquid I have no + Water magicites.

Well, if you still can't beat him and can wait a few days, I think IX event gives a 5 star wind/lightning skill that gives instant jumps and poorish damage. Between that and usb it's instant jumps, so that's a pretty big power spike.

If you can't beat them now though, I honestly don't think pulling new gear is going to change much - maybe an ability doublecaster. Skills would but it sounds like you're using well honed 5 stars. Maybe + element damage gear or a chain, but a chain on a bad user or someone who you already have stuff for (who doesn't instant cast) isn't going to be much of an improvement either. Most of the time when I've had trouble with magis (liquid flame and fen) it's either been total lack of relevant soul breaks, or something was fundamentally wrong with my party setup.
