I also took the time and uses the motes to unlock his first 12 spheres. He is likely going to replace Ramza for now.
If I can beat the D220 version of the Anniversary battle, I should get enough Spellblade Motes to get the 3% damage increase on Bartz. I unlocked Snowspell Strike on him and Sora last night. Hopefully it'll let me get some more content down.

I unlocked Snowspell for Sora and he fucking WRECKED Tiamat. Before, I couldn't even down her. Now Sora is basically responsible for almost ALL the damage. Originally Posted by Vandalhart

Is that just with the Snowspell ability or the fact he has the +3% Spellblade damage?
I figured, if his AOSB counted as Spellblade, it made sense to give him the last sphere instead of Bartz.

Don't ever use precious job motes to unlock the final node on anyone unless it's Bard motes, you get more benefits from unlocking more characters than getting a 3% boost for one (including OP examples like Bartz).

yeah spellblade in particular isn't a great one to max since if you're using those skills you're targeting a weakness in 99% of cases. with proper buffs you're probably gonna be capping damage or coming close to it, and even if you're not it's unlikely that 3% is gonna shave a turn off your kill time.
i think the 3% nodes are a waste in general, though with that said i did splurge and unlock TGC's knight bonus after the last banner where i pulled his OSB, USB and LMR. i have a ton of spare knight motes and it's rare i've ever found myself in a situation where i feel an urgent need to give aegis strike to anyone.

Well, if there is a character to have it be least wasted on at least its Bartz.
But yeah, generally ability motes (and especially Spellblade motes because SSS is so potent) are better used unlocking ability access and abilities to break down for crystals than they are for squeezing that 3% damage.
