Kinda funny that there's no effective recourse when your peaceful democratic process elects malevolent actors.

There have been ~705k people at protests in DC since January 20th of this year. Just pulling from wikipedia, that total already exceeds any full year in the past decade (2010 is the closest with ~500k, although the 200k Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear was a protest of the media) and likely much longer than that although I CBA to keep going back. I don't expect an extrapolation of this year's current rate will be accurate (the Women's March is going to be an outlier), but the last decade saw 873k protesters total, which we're likely to exceed this year. If you discount the Rally to Restore Sanity, we're already there.

Our form of government is a 250 year old experiment and some parts of it really don't work so well.

Short of James Comey redeeming himself and giving us a Trump perp walk, the only effective recourse available before 2018 comes through the courts, and while they've done a relatively good job at preventing some of the absolute worst of Trump's impulses, they've still been excruciatingly slow at processing some of the corruption and ethics issues that have been present from the moment he stepped into office.
