Honestly, I can see people in WV viewing Trump as their only chance at being able to survive. I mean, coal had been a huge part of the state for a long time and no one's giving them anything except "coal is bad, and you should feel bad." Hillary was one of the only high profile people I've seen that said we should really work for retraining those workers and not leaving them behind, but lolHillary. Admittedly it also doesn't help when you provide the opposition with the sound bite of "we're going to put coal workers out of work" or something to that effect.
