We can toss around statements about how the white house doesn't set tax policy and this is obviously not a comprehensive proposal (aka it's 2.5 pages), but the federal government runs out of money on Friday, right? both sides say progress is being made towards a spending bill. no one seems worried. At this morning's R's meeting no one even mentioned funding the government, all talk was on health.

This plan calls for a territorial tax system and Mnuchin said this morning Congress has concerns over BAT.

Brady has ardently been pushing for a territorial tax system for years, if it didn't actually come from him it's at least got 1000% support from Ways and Means.

Read some of the accounts of the first NAFTA negotiation. There is no fucking way that this administration would be able to organize it or, if they somehow did, that they would send competent enough negotiators that we would end up with a somewhat comparable deal.

Even ignoring the economics, we would be negotiating from a position of weakness because this administration is so weak.
