AST buffs are crazy indeed, 300% shield with no random proc. I still don't see any reason to take WHM over SCH in raids though, they have no utility whatsoever. Unless those powerful cures are needed (and looking at AST they likely aren't).

Midare is clearly labeled as a 'Weaponskill' in the tooltip, so yes you can. But Kaiten doesn't work with the Hissatsu abilities since they're labeled 'Ability' (No 800 x 150% AoEs, darn~).

All I know is, so many terrible RDM, MCH and SAMs, and looking at BRD changes, the BRDs who don't use songs now will hopefully actually use them since there's 0 excuse to not actually play support and not a glorified dps.

Let's not forget the possible raining of Aetherflow you may get where in a best case scenario your Aetherflow is reduced by 30s with no drawbacks and from USING AETHERFLOW ABILITIES, in addition to this "set it and forget it" heal that costs no MP.

All healers lost DPS due to these changes, WHM included. If nothing changes before EA we'll stick to AST+SCH in Stormblood no doubt. WHM is just a mess all around.

Edit: Bio should be upgraded to Bio II and then III. Some tooltips say otherwise but they're probably not updated properly and there are mistakes.

They lost the ability to use Bio and Bio II together is what they are talking about I assume since it automatically upgrades now. Still not really an issue with all the new shit they got.

Just like Aero upgrades to Aero II and Combust goes to II and then III. All healers are in the same boat really here.

The advantage of SCH is the DPS really, everything else has been taken over by AST already and made better

Honestly the only reason SCH is even in the current endgame meta is due to WHM being so weak

yeah, looking at it further it's probably a tooltip issue, because SCH doesn't have Bio III anywhere

There was no 180 there. I was discussing the leak that some were reporting here and if those changes actually happened SCH wouldn't have been in the same position. I still stand by all that, they would've destroyed the job if they had removed pet abilities and turned them into totems with weak ass perpetual auras.
AST is still the best healer in the game after these changes, heck even Adlo with crit proc isn't better than their own version. Basically they've nerfed healer DPS all around, gave more utility to AST and SCH (while buffing AST to crazy levels in every other aspect of their job) and left WHM in the dust with strong heals but no raid utility at all.

I don't know why it matters that healer DPS is nerfed though? When because there's no stance switching required now, weaving in healing / damage spells is infinitely easier than with that stupid 5s Cleric Stance delay.

And pretty much EVERY JOB got some sort of DPS nerf in a way with the loss of the old cross class abilities / less DoTs, so it's sort of all across the board?

Why is it so paramount that healers are able to do crazy ass DPS exactly? I bet you this healer DPS nerf is not even a 5-10% reduction, and even then... who the heck cares?! It's not like healer DPS was GUTTED to the point of having absolutely no usability? What is it exactly that is so groundbreakingly horrible about this???

Cripes, this is almost exactly as bad as people saying "I just wanna heal, no DPSing" but flipped around to "My HEALER ROLE DPS is being reduced by an marginal amount, that's so dumb". Does that not sound ridiculously trivial to you?
