It wasn't great no, but it was enjoyable if for nothing else them the Butcher of Blaviken scene and the assorted "fuck" moments.

I remember the timeline just being confusing as fuck if you were new to this world, but aside from not knowing wtf was going on for the first 60% of the season, I absolutely loved it

It's meant to be until the end of the season when they make it clear that everything up to that point happened in the past. You really didn't need to know anything about the world aside from having watched the actual episodes to figure it out pretty quickly.
