The second half of the season with them just fully embracing a completely different storyline path worked well as opposed to haphazardly adapting stuff from the books

I don't understand people who want a 1:1 adaptations anyway. We already have the books, why would I want it EXACTLY duplicated in other media.
Thought S2 was great. Only beef was:

Stood out to me big time, but if that's my biggest complaint I think we're in good shape.
Because the chances of someone making up something good from that source material is pretty low, aka Cowboy Bebop or whatever adapation you wanna throw into the mix. And seeing something you've read reimagined is great, less so when what you wanted to see just doesn't exist.
This season was better than the first just because of that timeline shit, but aside from a few cool fight scenes nothing really stood out to me. If they make a season 3 I'll give it a shot, but I'm not into whatever side story shit they're doing next.
@Celeras, they were meeting on neutral ground which had been spelled so that no one could cast any magic. I agree though, that scene was rather lame.
Up to episode five at the moment. Really enjoying it so far, they've definitely upped the production from shitty CGI dragons behind a blatant green screen. But man...
Spoiler: show
Also, can they please hire someone who can make Ciri's wig not look ridiculous.
So I've never read the books or even played the games but I finished all 2 seasons. I enjoyed the show more in season one when it was less heavy plot interspersed with Geralt just chasing down the stand-alone monster of the week. It felt more fun and adventurous. I really don't give a single fuck about this stupid girl and she's destined to be the magical Jesus jedi or whatever cliche bullcrap. Ciri is basically a dominant part of every. single. episode. now and I need some variation but this season had none.
I mean, think Vaan and FF12. You might think Geralt is the main character in this story, but really it's Ciri. Geralt is def important tho

there are a lot of stories running parallel to one another in the Witcherverse and while Geralt is the main character of the one we follow Ciri's is the most important one
showrunners do seem trying to equalize screentime though by adding a lot of Ciri and Yennefer
Spoiler: show
I only played it for Fran
Xno just dropping the spoilers. Come on mang
My bad. Spoilers added.
I still love the show but if I had to air a complaint it would really just be how they're going about with Yennifer. Its a little too much. Like, look, I love Yen, I do, but her character arc is wonderful and works well enough alone without adding in all this "She needs something to do" B-plot nonsense. Without spoiling it her whole schtick this season is nonsense they just pretty much added in to give her more screentime and the motivation she has and the who and what is an insult to her character.
I know I dont speak for everyone but in my view Henry as Geralt is by far the most entertaining part of the show hands down. So while yeah even in the books its more of an ensemble cast where each piece paints the bigger picture (Not like they haven't throw away some of them already to give Yen some more stuff to do), and he can get backseated sometimes, I think the show writers should trim some fat and give Geralt more spotlight. Every second I'm watching some Yennifer B plot about her traveling around Magic-less getting verbally sucked off by everyone she meets and outsmarting everyone and yeeting away like Carmen Sandiego's saturday cartoon special is a second i'd much rather be spent on Geralt either murdering a random lore monster or progressing the plot through his eyes.
Now don't get me wrong please, I get they can't do this series without the other characters, and I dont want them too. I'm just saying give me more of the main man and keep the other shit focused and quick. I dont want to spend anymore time with Yennifer's solo adventure time than I have too.
Ciri's cool though.
I just want more Witcher in my Witcher.
damn son, we got a carmen sandiego reference
