that description of Radovid is horrible and why they decided to make an original elf rebel rather than use Isengrim Faoiltiarna ~

After how the first half of season 2 went I'd rather they just do their own shit than further butcher the books they're supposedly basing it off of.

fair, expensive fan-fiction prolly a better way to look at it than keeping up the pretense of faithful adaption

I've never read the books, honestly, so I'll probably never notice, but it sucks that they're taking that route with it for you fans of the book.

The second half of season 2 where they just did their own thing was perfectly fine. I'll watch it regardless because Henry Cavill absolutely kills it as Geralt and other than how poorly they're adopting the books (which they said they were going to super faithful to), it's generally a pretty well acted/well produced show.

I am a big reader but I'm 100% glad I've never read the novels in this case. I can enjoy the show for what it's worth.

I read the books and still am enjoying the show. Once I realized they were deviating I started to just take it as it's own thing. Not that hard to separate it.

I've read (listened to cuz lol audiobooks) all of the novels and love the shit out of them but totally on board with this show too. I'd love to have had the main series adapt the books 100% but ive been loving the show as it's own thing and at least D&D aren't writing it.

Ugh Cavill's performance is pretty much the best thing in the show. The fights are only as good as they are because of his physicality.

Cavill is a hardcore Witcher fan isn't he? I doubt he's leaving because of schedule conflicts or etc. I wouldn't be surprised that, given the direction the show went in season 2 and how Cavill himself said he hoped season 3 would be more on point with the books, that Netflix ain't taking this series in a good direction

My initial thought is scheduling conflict with a new Superman movie.

Weak sauce. At least half the reason I watch the show is Cavill. Why can't we have nice things?

Any other actors you would consider for the replacement if Cavill was not available for an understandable reason?

I do think Hemsworth is at least workable.

He's workable if the series itself was actually not showing how the writers hate the Witcher books/games and actively working to pull a D&D on the source material so their writers can prove they know how to write or some shit. Cavil I feel from all reports was the one holding it mostly together and stepping up to pull the source material back in when needed and had the clout to do that and the nerdiness. I don't really care either way for Liam Hemsworth, but unless he proves us wrong, this is just a paycheck and a gig for him.

I feel Cavil saw how Netflix was treating the series, and decided it was either riding this dumpster fire further into oblivion or jumping back over to Superman and doing that and I think he made the correct career choice.

All I know is that given him leaving and the news coming out about the writers of the show and season 2 having been season 2. I doubt i'll watch much if any of season 3.
