I don't really care either way for Liam Hemsworth, but unless he proves us wrong, this is just a paycheck and a gig for him.

I feel Cavil saw how Netflix was treating the series, and decided it was either riding this dumpster fire further into oblivion or jumping back over to Superman and doing that and I think he made the correct career choice.

All I know is that given him leaving and the news coming out about the writers of the show and season 2 having been season 2. I doubt i'll watch much if any of season 3.
I actually agree. Of course I'll be keeping an eye out when the reviews for the next season arrive, and I'll probably watch at least the first episode.

Might as well cancel the show after season 3 then, there's no way Liam Hemsworth can carry the show the way Cavil did. He's the reason the show is even enjoyable.

sad to see but at least Henry agrees that Netflix has made a faithless botch of the adaption

the discourse has kind of shifted from "be faithful!" to "be grateful!" but these damn writers getting a hold of a celebrated narrative and spinning it off into their own whatever fan fiction is a recurring problem with this endless succession of mediocrity

write your own stuff if you wanna write your own stuff. otherwise adapt faithfully or fuck off

a few instances of decision making in HotD have been bad but it is a far far better show and a far far more faithful adaption than the Witcher

comparing the crimes of Martha Stewart to Jeffrey Dahmer's

I miss the first season. Gave it a shot and it turned out to be some fun television before covid hit.

Oh it comes out tomorrow. Woo. I guess.

The recasting completely killed my excitement for the rest of it. Whatever was left after S2

Had to google who it was lol. Baby Thor is actually a pretty good recast. Not dreading this as much as I was. But I also didn't hate s2 like most people.

    https://www.pcgamer.com/the-witcher-...-fifth-season/
Talking to Deadline, casting director Sophie Holland (who also cast Wednesday for Netflix) casually mentioned that a second season with Hemsworth's Geralt is already locked in, saying, "We're just about to start filming on season four with Liam Hemsworth and there will be a short gap then we go straight into season five."

We won't get to see the first chunk of The Witcher season 3 until June 29, with the final three episodes being saved for July 27. It'll apparently be a big, climactic send-off for Cavill, and while the show's creative leads considered ending The Witcher at that point, they decided there were "too many stories left to tell".
Considering how much people are against this that's a pretty ballsy move...

Wasn't that the issue anyway? Too many (original) stories the Cavill wasn't down for

The decision to recast Geralt for future seasons was made before the backlash though. Henry is still Geralt for season 3.

Right, but locking in season 5 now when no one seems to want Hemsworth or for the show to continue without Cavill seems like a risk, at best. Even without the recasting people seemed to be sort of losing interest/patience with the showrunners, Blood Origin was rocky to say the least, and now the recasting is basically removing one of the few things everyone actually seemed to like. Why double down and commit to a fifth season when the fourth season looks like it's going to be pretty poorly received?
