I haven't tried Behemoth yet. I tried once but the team kicked me because apparently they had someone that DCed and decided not to tell me until they already kicked me.
I'm still on console. Have done a lot, but been taking a break lately. Looking forward to see how PC folks enjoy Iceborne!
I look forward to being a samurai with my rurouni kenshin slashes
Yeah? All those slashes where you don't kill anything?![]()
Got my lance augmented and did every Rank 9 quest minus Behemoth. Time to man up for tomorrow and look for what lancers use for the fight.
Not unless you're soloing it, or for some weird reason are planning to go as a wide range lance healer (don't).
Behemoth with a lance is 90% just blocking his attacks while getting in pokes where you can. It's pretty important for the tank to position the mob in a way that his normal attacks don't destroy the comets as well. Of course, if you go with a HBG user there's a good chance they'll tank it anyways lol.
Make sure to have flash pods to stop charybdis or at least make sure they're dropped out of the way. Otherwise load up on defensive skills and tank and spank. Behemoth isn't as much a hard fight as it is just getting his rhythm and attacks down. They're not hard to avoid just very punishing. Plus his hitboxes are gigantic and he's kind of hard to hit the whole fight. There is the obvious don't fight him near comets or drop them in bad spots.
If you are having trouble and want a bit of cheese. Bring a friend with Wide Range 5 and lots of dash juice. Mount Behemoth, but don't hit him. Just stay mounted. As you get low on stamina have your friend use a dash juice to replenish you. While you're mounted have your team go to town on his legs. Allows a lot of damage and pushes him through areas quickly without him moving a lot and risk Charybdis not being stunned or left in bad spots.
flashing his charybdis' is the biggest thing for me. that shit can ruin your run if it gets dropped on your comets
Yeah I learned that the hard way when I first tried to solo. It's basically Kushala Daora but 10x worse.
This game would be an 11/10 for me if it wasn't for sharpening and needing to craft extra pods and pots on the fly and such. Like I enjoy bow and lbg, but hate making ammo and stuff in the middle of a fight. I play mostly LS GS HH, but I didn't know if there was a weapon or something that required the least sharpening, the least buffs, really the least use of opening menus and inventory/wheels/binds. I know what I'm asking for is basically being the worst and least useful player in a group but I just want to go in kill and leave. I'm reluctant to get xpac because that's all I want to do and I don't know what's closest.
Solo play is always viable for that reason, but yeah crafting on the fly feels like a chore (and it is comparatively) but it can make some play styles very effective. I used to be very clunky at it but now I can quickly craft all my sticky ammo in the time it takes to do a dodge reload.
They improved the on field crafting by allowing you to craft all the ammo (or thing, like flashpods or dusts) at the same time rather than 1 by 1. Not sure if that's in base world, but it was definitely a great thing to have and made playing those weapons a lot more fun.
See but I like multiplayer I just want to be the heel of the group, lol. HH provides enough through songs I don't need to be spamming powders and shit right? Maybe I'll just stick to that.
Yeah HH is definitely the bard of MHW. As long as you aren't getting yourself killed, or doing nothing people will love you. While you can be a support main using wide range and healing your team (SnS is good for this) it's hardly necessary. Most hunters know to watch their own health. HH is good at buffing their team and when good at it doing decent damage and KO as well.
HH is fine for hunts, long as you at least have attack up L songs you don't really need to do much to contribute.
But a good HH is always going for that head, and with IB song echos you can really fuck a monster's day with some good hits.
I have to confess... I still craft everything via menu instead of shortcut during fights because it was the only way to do it for years and I got used to it.
In fact, when Behemoth came out on PC I had to learn to use the radial menu and I put the jump emote in every fucking slot on it and still died trying to do it because I didn't know that it was saved into your gear set at the box.
im the same lol
New Year Nightshade Paolumu event quest is up, do it, remember to clutch claw it for a laugh.
