I'm not touching Extreme given my luck. I'm just glad I finally have all reds on my mission list and full Drachen.

May try again when I toy around with light bow gun tomorrow. Or maybe see if I can get used to bow. Just feels weird bow having a 1-2-3 combo like melee which really threw me off when I first tried.

Extremoth is still annoying but significantly easier with Iceborne. But why wear Drachen when you've got Ciriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii.

You can get armor that makes you look like Ciri from Witcher 3 from Ancient Leshen, which coincidentally comes back the 16th to PC lol. Geralt is from the Witcher quest which is always available iirc. They come in Layered too. EDIT: Been too long. Looks like both layered come from Ancient Leshen.

Is that the full armor set or something else? Only thing I did with the Witcher event was the quest where I play as Geralt and kill an ancient leshen. Never tried the special event quest.

Ah my bad. I thought it was just a harder version for the weapons.

Also figures the wiki has no info on the armor.

Ah right. The armor set page is working. I meant the individuals. Didn't see the status when I first looked.

You basically want to do Ancient Leshen for the Mutagen to craft the layered armor sets to them. 1 for each Geralt and Ciri.

They will also be available for crafting from the Elder Melder, once Iceborne hits, for whatever the weekly print was, from base game.

    P.S....

    Fuck MR Tempered Kush.

Yeah it's exactly the same except; you can't flash him out of the air and his tornadoes fucking home into each other and create super tornadoes.

So yeah, exactly the same. Still a shit fight.

Clutch claw kinda alleviates flashpod resistance.

yup. makes the fight way easy to the point of boring imo

also arch-tempered kush couldn't be flashed either. should be used to it.

Used to it, doesn't mean it's fun or engaging.

And clutch claw is the worst replacement for flashpods, I know it's supposed to be the way but it fucking sucks lol

It's a dumb annoying fight no matter what you do, the best way to fight is just to constantly stun it so it doesn't fly. In that sense it's an easy fight, but you can apply that to most monsters.

You level the areas by killing shit from/in them. (If you open the map while in the lands, the list/tracker of monsters in the bottom left has a region icon on them, the monster gets most credit to that region, though it's a bit more complicated than that).
You can't hit max level 7 until you reach MR 100 though. You gradually unlock some assignments/monsters as you level, which will unlock caps as you go.
Like FFXI crafting, there is a total cap spread of points you can have, and once you hit it, leveling something causes other levels to drop. Functionally, you can have half the zones at max level.

The guiding lands gathers & drops are mostly for postgame augments to weapons (there's probably a few used in crafts, notably MR Zorah set, since there is no MR Zorah fight).
What you mainly need for your last power level boosts are spiritvein shard/gems/great gems from tempered versions in the guiding lands (also, for each of the 1 monster items from GL, there is a tempered version as well, though the melder can dwngrade tempered mats to normal ones at a 1:1 ratio.)

R12 gear needs Great Gems from Tempered Elders, which mainly show up at level 7, so be prepared to wait a bit.
If you have trouble, you may need to make a R11 set of gear and do T2 tempered monsters for spiritvein gems so you can do the last augment on them and leapfrog a bit of defense and augments.

all them grinding lands mats are for augmenting your weapons and upgrading your charms (do your charms first)

for leveling the areas up, killing and breaking parts of monsters that are native that to area will increase that areas level. also killing and breaking parts of any monster in that is currently in that area will increase that areas level. be aware you can only have 3 areas at maxed level at once. mining/boning fish is a separate and independent leveling system entirely

    edit: beaten
