can add me, Stollenwyrm
I'll help out whoever wants it, HR79? or something atm.
For soloing tempered shit I usually just stick with healing cat. Not usually concerned about the actual drops from the monster and healing just affords me to keep going ham without wasting time to drink a pot.
Been taking the time to level everything up tho. Meowlotov sadly seems fucking useless, mostly because the cat can't hit the broad side of a barn with the projectile half the time.
For Bow users, what route did u go? (like, to start...i have a pulsar bow 2 at the moment) id like to start upgrading the best one now to keep it going
The best bows are
Kadachi (Lightning)
Diablos
Vaal Hazak (general for Elder Dragons)
Daora (or Legiana, it's kind of a wash for Ice)
Arena
For straight leveling up as you go the Diablos tree is probably the best option since you won't have to worry about elemental resistance
Diablos and Kadachi both start from the Bone tree (Kadachi does come from the Pulsar so you can keep working on that one)
Vaal should also be the Bone line, Daora and Arena has their own trees at the bottom of the list.
Ice/Lightning/Dragon for Bows will basically cover every mob in the game, with Diablos there for multi monster hunts (where you can't necessarily change gear between fights) or Arena for a debuff heavy playstyle (also good in multi hunts where the monsters health is spread out among more then one monster, and thus less build up of Blast Resistance)
Diablos is also best for the Crit Draw Dragon Piercer build, but that's an entirely different playstyle from every other bow build.
Edit : I also like Arena for Kush, who is super duper weak to Blast. An average hunt will probably see the effect proc 8 or 9 times if I also use the coating, which is an extra 1k+ damage should more then make up for the loss of per arrow damage, in addition to access to Para and Sleep coatings (to sleep bomb him)
Btw something interesting that Reddit pointed out.
Monsters will occasionally drop slinger ammo, and said slinger ammo drops at certain %s of remaining health, specifically 30/20/10. Since monsters can be captured at 25% health, this can be a good gauge for capture quests since the Skull marker on the minimap won't show up until they're under 20% health.
Note that this doesn't necessarily apply if you're using Plunderblade, since that will make the monster drop slinger ammo whenever your Palico hits him with the Plunderang thing.
How do i change ammo for bow? i cant figure that out...i know how to change coatings, but not the actual ammo
There's no ammo for bow, just the coatings.
Whats all the thunder ammo and shit for then?
Light and heavy bowguns
Feeling moderately badass atm. Odogaron got his butt whooped by my Pulsar Hatchets III.
Decorations in this game is my only gripe thus far. The melding lady doesn't have upgrade or addition quests I'm missing right? Trying to get attack decorations is killing me.
Afaik you can technically get any possible deco from the final tier of melding (have gotten Rarity 8s from it), but yeah the RNG is very very real.
Same with weapon augmenting. After not getting a single Axe Warrior's in who the fuck knows how many investigations, got 3 in 2 fights last night.
i met my first beetlejuice yesterday and he is quite rude
