Gear in Miasma Resist and Vaal is a complete joke.

Otherwise the fight can be kinda shitty

Anyone know what kind of damage Beetz, Lavisoth, and Dodogama do? I've been using Blast Resistance for them, but I don't know if it's that or fire damage that their specials do.

Except for Vaal I really don't think it's ever worth it to gear in specific resists for a fight. You're better off putting those gear/gem slots to offensive abilites or the general purpose defensive skills like Earplugs, Guard, or the Evasion ones (which double as boosting your offense since it let's you stick to the monster better).

Monster Hunter always adheres to the logic of the best defense being a good offense.

Anti-Blast can make Teostra a lot less scary (and annoying) when it goes into super mode, usually also prevents a lot of burst damage from some of those monster specials (though they're all so telegraphed you don't need it). Fire Mantle also works wonders for those monsters too.

I'd say if you were to be worried about any status generally, it should be stun.

If you're keeping consistent damage and/or using a Dragon element weapon on Teo, he won't be able to keep his Burst aura up.

Fireproof Mantle is definitely a solid choice for him tho, especially if your weapon isn't augmented with Health.

Update can't come fast enough. It would be nice to not need flinch resist because of cockhole LS users hitting people during carves. How such obvious griefing got past the devs is beyond me.

Imo Divine Blessing is the single best general purpose defensive skill in the game. That shit is the hotness. Keeps my terrible ass alive.

The "git gud" crowd will mostly argue that defensive skills should be limited to Earplugs, Guard, Evade Window, and Evade Extender, because they allow one to keep the pressure high and keep damage up without interruption. I do have Divine Blessing slotted in to some sets if I had some free points available (mostly in some SnS sets)

Related, it's nice to see the Health Augment getting legit love in this game. Compared to the version in MH4U, Health Augment in this game is straight fucking nasty for more then a few weapons. I've been rocking it on my Diablos CB, and hot damn is it effective. More often then not can make it thru a tempered T2 fight without ever using a single potion.

I got no problems admitting my terrible haha. My ass is gonna get hit. It's going to happen.
Most of my gems atm are garbage like botany and shit. Have 2 divine blessing gems so I'm rocking those.

Is health augment better or worse than nerg's hunger?

Infinitely better. Nerg 3 piece is a random chance on hit, Health Augment is 10%* of your damage to health on every single hit (there are exceptions, Dragon Piercer for example won't proc it)

    * 10% for the first augment, 5% for each one after.

This clip someone put on reddit awhile back shows off how effective it is - https://gfycat.com/OrnerySatisfiedEmeraldtreeskink

Putting health on Royal Burst was the greatest thing I did. Coupled with Rocksteady and you just full burst loop a monster into oblivion. Play it a bit safer with guard 3 or just go full retard damage either way it's getting work done. I only feel I lose when I get scared enough to use a potion, otherwise I can be far more reckless than ever (probably the reason I like stun resist 3 but can never really fit it).

Dia CB is just stupid amounts of regen. Trying to think what other weapons would be real good with it, but my drop rates are ass unless I want to fully augment all the L/HBGs I never use.

SnS is really good with it, especially since SnS has more then a few builds out there that don't really "need" the Crit augment.

I also have it on the Jagras SA.

Shit I just googled Zombie Gunlance and I think I'm going to have to ride that on the side for shits and giggles when I get to augments.

im very nub but on dual blades I’ve basically been running attack boost and health boost, trying to find a way to get weakness exploit into my build now. I’m also running full earplugs and stun resist because can’t stop won’t stop

i went decimation claws (nergi tree) for my first full upgrade, heard good things about diablos clubs, odogaron tree, and fire and ice, but I feel like decimation claws are good for just about anything

gonna keep playing around with claws until I get my augment for it, then move on to something else, probably bow or gunlance (although I did get a rarity 8 GS/LS augment, maybe I should do one of those next)

If you don't know what to make, Diablos or Nergi tree are always good for basically every melee weapon.

i recently got the diablos clubs ii and an elementless jewel but I haven't played around with them much yet.
decimation claws are definitely the easiest dual blades to gear for. don't need any handicraft, free element, etc. walk in with whatever attack and weakness exploit you got and you good.

Guys/Gals, I know about earplugs/extenders/DoMoarDPS, but I'd still like to know the technical answer to the specific type of damage that Beetz, Dodogama, Lavisoth, and Uragan non-melee attacks do, such as spit attacks, and the poop that they leave behind. I can't find anything other then topics related to Blast Blight and the Blast damage done by our weapons; nothing about which monster attacks use Blast Damage, if any; maybe it's all fire damage instead.

Inquiring minds just got to know.
