Oh boy, can't wait to face tank their combination attack lol. Skills on weapons is pretty cool, hope the stats are nice since the armor seems mediocre. I was hoping for more Master Touch armor to customize with. Also, gonna stick with soloing Arch Kirin, regardless of hp scaling.

    Full update notes here: http://www.monsterhunterworld.com/us/topics/update/

    Major Additions and Changes

    • You will now also discover investigations for tempered monsters when hunting a tempered monster or breaking its parts.
    • You can now change armor pigments and layered armor at all item boxes found within Astera (except the Training Area) or the Research Base.
    • It's now easier to successfully pet the Poogie.
    • The camera will not be forcibly moved by Scoutfly guidance when arriving at camp at the start of a quest.
    • The trophy conditions for "Monster Ph.D." were updated to no longer include monsters added in free title updates.
With this design change, you can now unlock the trophy by speaking to Ecological Research if you've already maxed out the research levels for the original lineup of monsters.

We have made the following changes along with update Ver. 3.00. We apologize for the late notice.

    • When performing the Shoryuken or Hadoken gestures, male characters (or armor that makes you look like a male character) will now use Ryu's voice from Street Fighter V, while female characters (or armor that makes you look like a female character) will now use Sakura's voice from Street Fighter V.

    Bug Fixes

    • Regarding the problem of the new guild card lighting system introduced in Ver. 2.00 affecting the appearance of a player's character, the light settings have been adjusted to make it look similar to the lighting before Ver. 1.06.
    • Fixed a bug where only medals, not trophies, would be unlocked when ending the game while it is processing unlocked trophies and medals at the result screen. With this fix, if you have unlocked a medal but not a trophy, it will be unlocked the next time you get to a result screen.
    • Fixed a bug where Kulve Taroth's broken horn cutscene was interrupted and the siege could not be completed when Kulve Taroth's horns took separate damage right at the time they were completely broken off.
    • Fixed a bug where Kulve Taroth would go into an attack phase in area 1 and would not move to the next area, resulting in the siege becoming impossible to complete.
    • Fixed a bug where the siege of Kulve Taroth would end when a member of the siege goes to another quest, expedition or to the training area. This has been fixed so the siege can be continued.
    • Fixed a bug that occurs during the "Banquet in the Earthen Hall" quest when you open your Hunter's Notes while in the tent just as Kulve Taroth's horns are completely broken, causing the battle music to continue playing while the quest complete music plays on top of it.
    • Fixed terrain-related bugs in some locales.
    • Fixed a bug where a player would get an infinite buff under certain criteria upon a successful Foresight Slash.
    • Fixed a phenomenon where specific controls would allow you to link the Charge Blade's Super Amped Element Discharge into an Amped Element Discharge. This was unintended and after considering how it affects the game's balance, it has been removed.
    • Fixed a bug that allowed the player to face in a direction other than the reticle just before Wyvernheart is fired.
    • Fixed a bug that caused Gastodon to spot players in their territory even when wearing a Ghillie Mantle or hiding in bushes.
    • Fixed an issue where gestures could be performed when afflicted with any five elemental blights, blastblight, bleeding, but could not be performed when poisoned or afflicted with effluvium.
    • Fixed a bug where food skills would not be reflected on your Palico when joining a quest as a guest after eating at base.
    • Fixed a bug where the lighting on the two guns in the Devil May Cry Dual Guns gesture was not applied properly, making them look they were floating.
    • Fixed a bug where the Elderseal value for the weapon Taroth Buster "Decay" was set to "None". It has now been changed to "Mid".
    • Due to a data error, Taroth Strongarm "King" (Rarity 7) parameters were the same as King Gold Cutter (Rarity 6) in all areas except for number of augmentation slots. The Taroth Strongarm "King" has been updated with the following values.
      Elemental Value: Fire 12 > Fire 18
      Affinity: 20 > 30
    • Due to a data error, Felyne Lavasioth Helm α's elemental resistance had the same values as Felyne Uragaan Helm α. The following values are now applied to Felyne Lavasioth Helm α.
      Fire Resistance: 4 > 3
      Water Resistance: -3 > -3
      Thunder Resistance: 1 > -1
      Ice Resistance: -2 > 1
      Dragon Resistance: -2 > 3
    • The Felyne Azure Star series was mistakenly marked as rarity 2 from Ver. 2.00 and onward. It has now been reverted back to rarity 3.
    • Fixed a bug where a beard set on a female character during character creation would not appear when equipping the Kulve Taroth β armor set.
    • The following bugs related to armor appearance have been fixed. 1. Some visual bugs affecting the female Azure Starlord Armor α were fixed.
      2. Some visual bugs affecting the female Rathalos Coil β and Rath Soul Coil β armor were fixed.
      3. Some visual bugs affecting the female Vaal Hazak Braces α armor were fixed.
      4. Hair pops out less now while wearing the female Xeno'jiiva Headgear α/β, Vaal Hazak Helm α, Jyura Helm α, and Blossom Headgear α armor.
      5. Hair pops out less now while wearing the male Butterfly Vertex (Low Rank, α and β) and Kirin Horn α armor.
    • The following text bugs were fixed in Traditional Chinese. 1. Kulve Taroth's name in Chinese has been changed.
      Before: 爛輝龍
      Now: 絢輝龍

      2. Caverns of El Dorado's translated name was inconsistent, so it has been normalized as "地脈黃金鄉".
    • In all languages except Japanese, Korean and Traditional Chinese, the following bugs were fixed. 1. There was a mistranslation when checking the abilities of the Recoil Suppressor while customizing the bowgun at the Smithy, causing an undesired result.
The translation has been fixed, and the Recoil Suppressor abilities are now displayed correctly.
      2. A bug was fixed where alert info for breaking Kulve Taroth's right and left gold tail plating were reversed.
    • The following bugs were fixed in French. 1. Tough-skinned Fruit and Crimson Fruit were both translated as "Fruits". They are now translated as "Piridions" and "Fruits".
      2. In the wildlife map, the "Bonus : Champignons" and "Bonus : Fleurs" messages were reversed. They have now been fixed.
      3. Performing the encore "Protection ouïe (P) / Anti-bourrasque : durée étendue" with a Kulve Taroth hunting horn caused an incorrect message containing "Earplugs (G)" to display. This has been fixed to display the correct message.
Note that the actual hunting horn effect has not changed.

I wonder if they could expand the caverns of El Dorado at some point and make it a full map that you could go on expeditions in and had more endemic life and such. Would be cool to have more environments to explore. They would obviously have to cut down on the amount of falling boulders and cannons/ballistae before you could fight regular monsters there. The tempered investigations change is welcome. It was annoying to get a bunch of investigations from a T2 tempered monster only to find all of them were non tempered.

Don't be like me and think Luna is weak to water. She's weak to ice.
Got a gem on my 2nd kill. I'll farm some horns to make a weapon tomorrow.

I thought heat guard would help, but I was wrong. The armor is also interesting with new slot combinations for head, waist, and legs. The best part of the update is definitely the brigade layered armor.

Finally caved and stopped holding out for PC. Got it for PS4 - no ragrets. Feels good to be back in a MH Game. So many weapons! Choice paralysis, but I'm liking Switch Axe and Charge Blade

Branching out from long sword. Really enjoying hammer and bow. Made the xeno jiva and val haazak bows. Working on making cera coilbender and the diablos hammer. Still love long sword though.

Sucks I only got r6 weapons from my one solo Kulve run I managed to fit in. Next time I think my strategy will be tighter and I might get further.

Edit: How are the Lunastra weapons? Any of them worth while? The long swords didn't seem to come close to Divine Slasher or the Deviljho weapon which is a shame. Would have been nice to have some variety in endgame long sword builds.

Luna/Xeno IG looks nice with decent blast/white sharpness/razor sharp, have a set with 100% affinity, crit status, handicraft3 and blast attack once I get tails. Luna/Xeno LBG is also a nice alternative to KT Pierce LBG for rapid thunder, gaining spare shot and 10% affinity for some raw. So far these are the two I'll make first since gems will be a pain to farm.

    • Waist: Marathon Runner 2 (level 1 slot, level 1 slot)

Yes she is, and there are three quests you need to complete to "unlock" her permanently, and two of them she shows up in, the last of which is against Lunastra and Teostra at once. There's also an Event quest to slay a Tempered Nergy, Luna, and Testy where two are up at once, allowing for turf wars and such. Ended up with a Tempered Luna investigation, four rewards, 3 feints, 5 try quest, and I made the OP Beta pants, so I can play with more builds now.

She's really pretty easy with Glutton HBG builds (but really, what isn't?), and I didn't fail any of those quests, so if you're having difficulties, you might try a spread HBG build, with Guard Up, Guard 5, Fire Res 3, and whatever else you want. Just shotgon her face/tail until she's dead, and don't stand in the fire. On the final unlock quest, and the Event quest, just make sure to fight them one at a time by pulling them away from each other, especially if Nerg is up and you can leave him alone until last, picking up all the tracks he constantly poops out. I ended up with 4 investigations from dicking around in it one time to test some things out about Luna, and dropping crystals on Nerg, while in Ghili Mantle.

    *edit*

Looks like Goldy Locks is back on 6/15 - 6/21.

Arch tempered Kirin is...fun. Went full anti-Kirin build against it.

Arch Tempered Kirin isn't all that bad, if you're already geared. Has twice the HP, hits harder, and moves faster, but I clocked 15 minute kills with Glutton. Five fights and I had the tickets needed for the armor and Delivery quest, so, I guess that's it for this thing. It does give 3 Tempered Elder Dragon investigations, if you happen to proc an investigation, and seems to have the ability to drop a lot of weapon stones, so there is that. 500+ hours and still no gun hero stone, so I've pretty much given up on that shit dropping, and I have some 20 TED investigations, so, meh?

Was expecting Arch Kirin to be worse for melee. Wasn't that bad. Failed the first attempt then went 7 straight np for all the tickets I needed.
Kulve head/body/hands/pants and Dante feet. 3 thunder res jewels and res food put me at 50 total thunder res. Made the fight way more manageable.

This new temporal mantle is also seriously OP

Yeah, the fight is only slightly harder than normal tempered, due to the fight being longer and more things one shotting you. I went with 9 thunder resist (picked my hammer set and replaced 2 expert jewels and one attack jewel with thunder res ones), the thunderproof mantle, and the tempOPral mantle (seriouly, it's ridiculous) and did it with no carts and in 17 minutes. In other attempts I've carted once or twice, but no quests failed so far. Once I get the 7 tickets I won't touch it again, fighting Kirin is pretty boring. There's too much waiting for an opening at times.

I just used zombie gunlance wide 4 with health augment. Quick firing 70 damage shells gives you a chunk of HP back, so as long as you aren't overly careless you can just tank everything.

Finally beat tempered Kirin last night on my second attempt. first attempt was with long sword which I play the majority of this game with but when that ended terribly I spent some time farming Anjanath to build the anjanath bow III. Went in with 3 thunder resist, 3 paralysis resist, and 3 stun resist. Vitality mantle and Thunderproof mantle. Took 16 minutes and some change to take the evil horse down with no carts. I haven't used the bow much but it is really fun and makes the kirin fight much easier.

Attempted AT Kirin with the same build while I got him to limping status I was a little bit overly aggressive and thunder resistance doesn't help with the damage from thunder attacks at all too easy for him to one shot me from lightning. I might try it again but build more for damage since defense doesn't seem to matter. I will take my time the second time and hide while I wait for mantles to recharge etc. I think the key for AT Kirin is just don't get hit by lightning.

What is the easiest way to farm for tempered elder dragon investigations? I didn't get any from Kirin.
