If you can mind's eye, do that shit.
FYI for anyone who wants/needs to solo you can plunderblade with palico to get all the materials for the armor. Can't get weapon or kinsect but people go in and kite behemoth around for the full 35 minutes and let your palico steal his parts.
It's interesting how much can change in a few days. Hadn't played since the first night of behemoth 'cause of life. Come back a couple days later and beat him twice in a row with randoms without a single death in both missions. I guess peeps figured out to slap in some defensive stats on this one.
Oh, and I don't know if it's been hot fixed or if there's a percentage chance but I did the Kulu mission twice more and in one of them I was able to capture a cactuar.
I captured multiple cactuars on my first Kulu mission. They also appear in expeditions to wildspire wastes now. I can't catch the flowering one though. Got a couple big ones and a couple little ones.
Starting to plunderblade farm behemoth. Need to figure out how to break horns and claws to get the shearclaws and horns. Will switch to long sword for tail cut once I get the other ingredients.
First room pillar drops and sleep bombing him will break the horns.
Tried that but couldn't quite get them to break. They are hard to hit any other time. Going to try with long sword next instead of hammer. It is near impossible to kite Behemoth to any of the slopes to do aerial hammer moves on him. At least each run with the plunderblade does result in a fair amount of materials.
Might try LBG/HBG sleep bombing with Mega Barrel Bombs. You can also use the Ghili mantle to get some free bombings in too, but don't use LBG's special or you'll break stealth. His tail is super easy to cut off with Luna Shattercryst LBG, and you don't need that many.
This definitely isn't something I feel like trying to solo, but it would be doable if he didn't spam so much shit constantly in P2. Not able to get past the Special Assignment to kill him, so I guess I'll not be seeing the Extreme version's rewards then. FF music forever, I guess, which really isn't all that bad.
Charge Blade and Gunlance we didn't have any issue breaking horns. But if you want to do it early using the rocks is the best bet.
Me and a friend tried duoing him and that second room is just ridiculous will all the stuff he spams. So far the farthest we've gotten was the third room, and that was with a random CB user and a Lancer who carted early then dropped out. With a decent team I'm sure he'd be manageable, but finding two more players who know what they're doing is probably the hardest part about this fight.
I generally run an SnS build with full Mushroom and Wide Range, but I've never been the best at healing. Maybe I'll try some HBG builds or something, or at the very least attempt the sleep bombing trick. Ideally I would prefer to just finish him off because as of now he's the only Monster I haven't gotten a kill on. And if I can't beat his normal version, how the hell will I beat his super version.
I find running pure survivability, regardless of what weapon you use, is the way to go.
I love my DBs on him because in the 2nd zone and the nerg zone you can spine ride him pretty much the entire time he's in those area. Lot of damage with minimal worry of taking damage because you're on his back the entire time.
I use:
Spoiler: show
Also eat a Veggie meal to reduce normal meteor/thunderbolt damage.
I think you can use this build with any styx weapon and it reduces the likelihood of him killing you with bullshit.
I'd also join in anyone's group whenever I'm on. Just know that I don't have voice chat.
Once a save editor comes out for the PC, I legit may just transfer over to that. I really despise being penalized because I don't pay monthly for online play that PC players get for free. Way too many hours in to do a clean start over though.
Save editor for an online game?
Game can be played entirely offline
(Well I guess except for the PC version having Denuvo)
Yeah, except Kachiko is specifically talking about playing online
Also, I've been seeing comments that the PC ver does require you to be online anyway, even when solo
I think what he's saying is that you don't need to pay a monthly fee for a steam account unlike a playstation plus account.
GMG has a nice sale for PC copies already.

$49.19. Got mine for 46 with a leftover coupon.
He's talking about using a save editor to, I assume, edit his character to unlock what he already has on the console version (basically hacking the save), instead of playing normally to unlock that again.
I mean, I haven't used save editors since I was a kid, but I'm thinking it's not really possible in games like this. If they have any sense, the game should do security checks etc for modifications like that
Why would they tho? The game isn't competitive and absolutr top tier gear isn't required for anything really.
Save hacking in Monster Hunter has been a thing for a long time (going back to at least the PSP games, was more prevalent in the 3DS ones however), and Capcom has to my knowledge never banned anyone for it.

Supposedly a patch coming (no source on that information.) Buuut...not a good look.
