Just did an expedition to unlock Deviljho and ended up in a 4 way battle royale between me, a Lavasioth, a silver crown Uragaan and a silver crown Deviljho. Shit like that is what makes this game so fucking good lol.
Does Deviljho have more HP than regular hunts? I spotted him in the Coral Highlands and had a battle with him vs Paloumu vs Legiana and he lasted way longer than the other two.
Was their health scaled down for being the targets of a great hunt?
He does seem to have a bit more HP than a normal high rank monster, and he seems to do way more damage than others in turf battles as well.
So anyone else disappointed in AT Kush? From all reports, he's just a regular Tempered Kushala with more Attack and HP who can't be flashed. ATV and ATT at least had a few new behaviors, but it seems Kush is the same fight as always...only longer.
His armor is also fairly not great as well, which isn't exactly surprising (probably the least useful set bonus out of all of them).
So I'm wondering what they do next, an Arch Tempered Nergigante? Hell, I'd love a Gamma version of the Zorah set, though only if it comes from a new, actually challenging fight.
I see no difference when I fight him, except he's always in the air, so I had to switch to LBG to keep my sanity. The rewards are pretty lack-luster, but it's been a while since I've played, so I'm grinding it out. Layered armor quest needs 5 arena coins as well as the two tickets, if you just want Guild Crest layered armor, you only need to fight it twice.
Nerg is likely the next AT elder and will probably be all types of fun, and I somehow doubt Zora or Xeno will ever get AT versions.
BTW, USJ1/2 quests will be available during the Twilight festival starting September 20/21srt and running through October 4/5, so PS4 can at least get the armor set and Long sword upgrade. Pretty much every other limited quest will be available, but I'm pretty sure it's only PS4 that's getting this event, or at least most of the limited quests, since much of that content hasn't been released on PC.

I'll probably kill Kush for the layered armor and the gloves at minimum. Depending on how annoying he is, I might try to get some of the handicraft parts as well. Definitely going to go in with an HBG set up, as he's just far too annoying to melee.
And I doubt Zorah or Xeno will ever see any new versions, I would just love to see the Zorah Siege done in a way where it's a) actually challenging and b) feels like an actual siege. They clearly ignore the "4 Hunters Max" rule for that fight, so it would be cool to see it done in a Kulve style "Full Session Fight" type event. But that would really need a whole new fight to be in any way interesting.
As for the event stuff, I figured the USJ armor fight would finally come to NA PS4s, it'll be nice to finally have easy access to that set. As for the rest of the events, once again the handler gets a better armor set then the players, especially the female set. The layered sets aren't even that great this time, I would've expected the event armor to also have a layered version like the Dive set, but I guess that'll happen next year or from some random other monster.
No new word on any new monsters though. I guess that we won't get any permanent new additions this month, but will most likely get something new next month after the fall event ends. Iirc, Oroshi Kirin and Alatreon are the only ones left on the leaked list not added yet.
Ya'll don't lie. AT Kush was boring. I see no difference.
Armor wise I'll only use head and legs with the old body for the 3 piece bonus for Kush and Kush alone.
I made the Layered stuff (his best reward), his gloves and I might make his waist and head if I do anymore runs. He's around for a full month straight so there's plenty of time to farm him. And he just seems like the easiest of all the AT monsters so far. I have a set with 3 wind resistance and it works just well enough to let me get close enough to him to drop some bombs and fire off some close range HBG shots.
So far, I had the most trouble with Teo. Kirin and Vaal were rough at first, but upgrading armor and getting better sets made them more manageable and they both had decent learning curves. But even with my best gear, Teo would just trample me left and right. His big attacks were easy to deal with, but his light trot across the map always seemed to one shot me.
AT Kirin gave me trouble before I just said fuck it and stacked light res to 50+.
AT Vaal gave me trouble the whole way with DBs 'cause I needed to be on top of him the whole time, continually taking tick damage. Even with effuvial expert to nullify the environmental damage and full effluvia resistance he still sucked.
AT Teo was easy for me with a cool drink/heat guard/25 fire res.
AT Kush was exactly the same. I added 5 earplugs on top of 3 piece Kush set to make the fight even easier.
AT Teo was the easiest by far for me. I didn't even have heat guard or fire res and he went down fast. Just went in with earplugs 5 and stun resist 3. I haven't had a chance to try AT Kush yet but I need to figure out a build with the 3 piece Kush bonus for wind resist then try with long sword I guess.
kushala head b/body b/pants b
drachen gloves
dante boots
handicraft charm
jewels:
elementless
protective polish
1 weakness exploit
4 critical eye
3 health boost
when you've gotten 2 or 3 tickets you can decide to either go:
kush head y/kush body b/drachen gloves/kush pants y/dante boots
or
bazel head b/kush body b/kush gloves y/bazel pants b/kush boots y - earplugs variant
Thanks that is helpful. I don't have drachen gloves though. Any decent replacement? Also I will be using Reaver Calamity so don't need elementless. I might try out Luna/Styx long sword if I can get damn Xeno horns to drop I loathe that fight and the stupid horns drop less than gems even when you break its head.
you could use teo gloves gamma but you'll be missing a slot for protective polish, which isn't the end of the world
elementless jewel was in divine slasher so no worries about that at all
edit: actually you could think about using vaal gloves gamma for 3 dragon attack instead of 3 crit, and slots for weakness exploit and protective polish
either choice makes sense
y'all are way ahead of me. i'm over here trying to kill nergigante.
ps4 mang. i literally have every piece of armour
nerg was one of my favourite first kills. felt like a real achievement
plus all his weapons are tits at that stage of the game
If he gives you a problem with OHKOs throw 3x vitality jewels into your armor. Divine Protection is a killer skill too.
Any suggestions on the best bow to augment? (Or if it's worth saving for something else down the road). Right now I use Kadachi and Deviljho for just about everything, and I could also craft Diablos+elementless jewel if I rearranged a few things with slots.
