Twice in a row right when finishing the last mission, it kicks me out of the game and returns me to the main area. No xp, no items, nothing..... This isn't winning my trust in this game. Think i'll wait until all the bugs are gone and good reviews start to come in. Otherwise, not going to bother anymore.
LMFAO! I saw in the notifications it was listed as 1.01, I think. Definitely not 0.0.0. And, personally, I think it's a good idea to wait. I imagine more people will be playing it and the servers will have issues. I really wanna see the roadmap and economy.
A 'kick' voting function needs to be added to this game though. not that I plan to play much with randos but it's too easy for someone to troll a mission and just sit back and do nothing.
Playing a bit on Ps4. Got kicked out from connection issues a couple times. Gameplay is fun so far though.
I'm enjoying it. A bit buggy. Twice now though on returning to town from a mission I've had enviornments fail to load. First time I walked past the first set of double doors and none of the buildings spawned (letting me go out of bounds, only for them to pop in and trap me behind walls and forcing me to log out lol).
Second time, returning from a mission... the floor didn't spawn! Walked right off the Javelin stand and fell into the void. Theres a big purple rectangular box under the Javelin spawn, IDK why, walked off that too and then fell infinitely til I logged out. Got some cool screenshots though!
This game is not worth the price of admission. Damn this combat is boring. All the guns feel weak as fuck. The flying is cool, but I really am not interested in some of the most boring gameplay in a fps in quite awhile.
I didn't really enjoy the gameplay until I unlocked the Storm, largely because of how bad the gunplay felt. It felt like the recasts on Storm were fast enough that I didn't have to use my guns as much, and I'm assuming that you'll be able to significantly reduce cooldowns at higher levels. Personally, I'm not especially interested in it because of how bad the gunplay felt, but I could see it being a different experience at higher levels with the right gear.
Feel from the beginning there was a de-emphasis on Gunplay and more emphasis on cooldowns and skills. Still didn't expect Gunplay to feel THIS weak/unrewarding... but you're right, it definitely felt meh. I tried a Scout Rifle though and that cleaned up adds nicely and was decently powerful, I have a Sniper I wanted to try but forgot to equip. Destiny got it right when it came to enemies/clearing adds. 1-shotting an add in the face with a Scout/Hand Cannon felt so damn good, and the guns were a big part of that obviously...
Still, we don't know what Purple/Orange gear is like, you could get a skill that fires a fucking Kamehameha Wave and feel badass through that, but I hope Gunplay isn't as worthless at launch as it feels now. 99% of my time on the Ranger build I played was Melee > Grenade which did a "Combo" and killed mostly everything.
Side note, The menus feels clunky after having played Destiny where I can access my weapons/items literally any time even during "Loading" screens. How and when you can access your Javelin takes some getting used too but I don't see it ruining the experience for me, I'll just treat it like Warframe, but its still a hard feeling to shake.
Only thing I'm really disliking is how empty the world is. Rarely do I come across wildlife or enemies. Finding events in Freeplay is also a needle in a haystack and then when they glitch.. Had an event where the mobs got stuck in the environment and couldn't be killed, last wave too. Also, when dying in freeplay, it puts you all the way back to where you spawned in. When you have traveled a far distance away for an event, that is a bitch to traverse back to.
Again, not trying to sell anyone, but the gunplay feels bad, to me, solely from the reloading length. Or if you could burn abilities WHILE reloading, might help. Low ammo feels really poignant. And the world emptiness feels like weird server glitches (where I had random groups just despawn in the middle of fighting them). Unless these early copies/streamers say/show otherwise, I'm giving this a good amount of time to level out. Maybe I'll buy this for $30 and use the savings to buy some skins...
I guess you have to gamble at their word, but the demo was FILLED with unacceptable bugs. Their "its a 6 week old version" doesn't really sit well. Six weeks is a minuscule amount of time in development, much less game development.
Has anyone tried both male and female pilots? The male voice doesn't really sell me on believe-ability.
any places where i can get a good discount on this game? didn't see it on gmg.
saw cdkeys and g2a but never used those before, not sure how safe it is to buy there.
I understand development enough to know that some shit is unavoidable and such...but the fact they released THIS version of the game for people to play is embarrassing. Surely they had a better build to use because goddamn, 6 weeks isn't enough time to iron this shit out and react to customer feedback.
Otherwise this game feels pretty good once you get used to it. You definitely need to customise your controls to find something that doesn't fucking suck ass...and a mouse with some extra buttons definitely helps but once I got used to it I was actually enjoying the movement and flying.
The gunplay is weak as fuck though, echoing that completely. I feel like I'm shooting shit with a nerf gun. Even the sniper rifle felt like I was just trying to tickle some balls.
After unlocking interceptor I started having way more fun though. Flipping around the map at high speeds and fucking shit up is great, but I'm not really feeling the ability synergy at the moment. I feel like it'll definitely get there, and fighting large monsters is fun.
The game definitely has potential, but I have a strong feeling this "beta" build is going to persist long into release. Definitely not a day 1 buy unless there's some crazy deals around, but I'll keep an eye out for sure.
I just got the glitch where the cutscene freezes like 1 second in for the final step on the Mathias quest... shame, Had to hold ESC to skip the cutscene :\. Same glitch Seagull encountered during the Earlier-Demo. I guess I'll just echo everyone else when I say this demo has only solidified my views to wait a while before buying. So so many bugs. I think EA is pushing this out far too soon and BioWare just has to hope for the best and fix asap :\, I'm going to miss BioWare when EA devours them.
