Has 2 left, but Proth is the one that redeemed the first and can't get it to work, so dunno. If you use them comment so that people know it's redeemed.
Strongholds (dungeons) which require a team of 4 to complete. There will also be legendary contracts (heroic missions). Level cap is 30, but as your gear progresses, you will be able to access tougher versions of the two called Grandmaster and those can go up to a 3rd tier.
Playing on PC... when I say Playing, I mean I'm loading for an hour, walking to my mech, loading for an hour, freezing on loading, task manager, kill game, repeat.
So this just looks like EA's attempt at muh destiny. Want to try it but I feel like it's something I'll pick up on black friday instead.
Finally unlocked the storm i wanted to try out. Editing the looks... bounces me to loading screen. Screen freezes.
To quote dunkey...
"Fuck this game."
After playing for 12hours. I decided not to preorder this game and just wait. The loading is pure shit on consoles, Hub movement is molasses, and Hub is boring. Connection issues galore. The combat just really feels loose to me in a bad way, maybe I'm just spoiled by Destiny's gunplay but its hard to go back to this. If the retail version performs this way, they should delay the game or its going to bomb hard.
As a PC player I'm not regretting the preorder at all. The things that need immediate changing (hello in town walk speed) are relatively minor, but you can definitely tell it will need more content added to free play. The main thing for me though, is that the PC version doesn't feel like a console port, and here lately that's a HUGE deal for me with a AAA game.
I was playing it in 2690 x 1440 160fps on PC yesterday, and it played and looked 100x better than when I played it on PS4 Pro. Can second that it isn't a shitty port.
PS4/XB1 is a locked 30 fps with checkerboard 4k. They may do a 60 fps update down the line for Pro & X1.
As long as they adress the horrible flying and swiming using KB and mouse, im good. atm controller on PC is great.
This game was def meant for controller. Dunno why anyone would use KBM for this.
Is everyone using a PS4 or Xbox controller on their pc? I've got an old Logitech that I used for FFXI on the PC. worked perfectly then but that was some time ago. Not sure if there's still support for it these days. Not sure I want to drop bones on a new console controller since I don't already have one.
i'm sure i'd be using an xbone controller if i wasn't permanently stuck on the title screen rip
Whatever problem they were having yesterday seems to have been fixed 'cause I can get in now, yay
So strongholds are fun. It's like strikes in destiny but with 4 in a squad.
Alright, have played for a few hours now and have done a majority of the demo's content. My thoughts:
-Gunplay feels pretty good. It's a third person shooter, don't expect the most visceral gunfeel honestly. The weapons feel different and they have a solid punch, that's enough for me. Remains to be seen how nice things like Legendary/Exotic effects will feel.
-Ranger feels surprisingly good for a starter class. Had fun playing with the gear that I managed to find (Seeker Missiles, Energy Beam, Deployable Shield, etc.). Colossus felt incredible. Really love the stompyness of a big, armored heavy. Overall I'm left with a very positive impression on how the abilities feel.
-Customization looks to be pretty damn great. I didn't play around with it much because there's not much of a point in a demo like this, but on release I look forward to making the prettiest power ranger.
-I played entirely using Keyboard + Mouse. Absolutely nothing wrong with this, ppl making a big deal and whining probably didn't touch their control settings. 70% Response + 30% Precision ended up feeling perfect for me. Once you understand that your aimable reticle is more like the outer ring of a gyroscope than a direct LoS that your character will follow, it isn't too hard to control flight. My main problem was that flight time felt extremely limited. Hopefully this improves with upgrades later on.
-The demo stronghold has me excited to see how many more the game will launch with. Felt pretty good even with randoms, I can only imagine that with a group of friends, tackling high difficulties will be a blast.
-Freeplay was interesting. World events and world bosses were pretty standard collect this/deposit this/kill this fare, but I was having fun regardless. Coming up with different ways to kill things and trying out new weapons/abilities and how they combo with your team mates will probably be great in this mode when we have access to all of it.
Overall I'm still looking forward to trying the full game. Connection issues weren't as bad today as they apparently were yesterday, so hopefully that's sorted completely for release. Demo felt intentionally very limited in terms of how much content is available, so it's impossible to say if this game has enough of it, and people claiming that it will have no endgame or longevity are jumping the gun in the most ridiculous way possible seeing as the demo ends at half of level cap with only a couple of map features open to us. Whether I buy it or not will be decided in the 10 hour gameplay period that basic access will get me. For now though my impressions are purely positive.
