Locking background music behind an amiibo in that barren, tunnel ass desert is enough to make me not pay Nintendo money for this game. Wild that that's where Nintendo is at now imo

Bought physical, its pretty sad that apart from first party games and rare examples like Cyberpunk, physical is almost always download code nowadays.
Those who love Metroid and Metroidvania in general (including me) will certainly love this one as well. It is Metroid Prime and a damn good one. But this may likely be a new introduction to the series for a whole new generation due to the insanely long development period and they may not like it as much as we do.
Make no mistake, this is a very good Metroid game.
Ah...spawning back at the save point an hour earlier upon death. Feels... painfully nostalgic?

Between the two versions, Switch & Switch 2, the game has sold more than 1M copies.
Is that...good? Sounds bad tbh...

Metroid has never been as popular of a franchise as the internet would lead you to believe.
It's fine, but it's a lesser sales figure for a Nintendo IP. I would say it's pretty good for something they didn't put any promotion behind before dropping it. Didn't even get a direct.
As far as I can tell, the only Metroid games to break 2 mil are the original game 2.7m, Prime 2.8m, and Dread 3m+. The rest all seem to be around the 1 to 1.5m area. Even Other M somehow.
