I’d always found it funny how Scyther and Pinsir, clearly a duo of sorts, didn’t both get evolutions... like how Magmar/Jynx/Electabhzz got pre evolutions.
I suspected even as a kid Heracross would be Pinsirs evolution since we knew of Scizor, and that SS of Pinsir having Heracross’ Giant horn confirms it was originally the intent to give both Scyther and Pinsir an evolution but for some reason they decided to separate Pinsir.
I wouldn’t be surprised if we found out of a scrapper Jynx evolution at some point, from the same generation as Magmortar and Electivire
Couldn't they just have recolored it to look more like Smoochum?

Well, I mean... I've gotta figure for a Jynx evolution they'd just draw some kind of female psychic ice beauty, a total departure from the cartoony caricature "wtf is that exactly" motif of its prior forms.
And while Pokemon repeats itself all the time with their early level bird, rodent, and bug garbage monster designs, a Jynx evolution would be specifically another psychic female beauty thing, which I guess is less forgivable creatively at this point.
Anyway, the Pokémon Company CEO, Tsunekazu Ishihara, participated in an interview at a Famitsu event today, Serebii reports he cemented some of the things we'd heard about this game but hadn't formally confirmed yet:

I think the middle ground they found with S/M was good. Starting out with the f/g/w but having their evolved forms (for the most part) carry an uncommon fairy or ghost property.
X and Y was also doing that middle ground. Their final forms were the Fighting > Dark > Psychic trio. What they may need is a change-up of the formula. Something other than 8 badges(or some variant) > League or variant. Sun and Moon was a step in the right direction adding different types of the same pokemon and adding an actual story rather than "I want to be the very best~"
"will have better graphics than any prior Pokémon game"
Hope this means a totally new engine. I'd buy a switch if this game is anywhere near what I've seen from Zelda BOTW
