Considering how bad the Canucks PP was last year and the fact that they need more players in their bottom 6 then top 6 I think the numbers make sense. I would have preferred less term but this deal is still better then that awful Ericksson deal from last year.

Patrick a sharp returning to Hawks for $1mil. That's a significant pay cut. He's basically returning just to return.

But I am happy that we get a defencement that is aimed towards défense more then attack.

Also I'm happy that bergevin didn't pay for a rank c or d defence I heard he could be good on a 2nd defence pair with petry

Big difference between a defensive defenseman and a defenseman who can't skate. Alzner is the latter.

Edit: Also didn't see it mentioned but the Leafs signed Hainsey. Don't know much about him so I'm not sure how to feel. Penguins signed Matt Hunwick and the Devils got Brian Boyle but at least he didn't go back to Tampa.

Yeah just saw that. I like that deal short term and at only 2mil a year pretty flexible. And his wife is pretty damn hot too.

Good to see Miller get a nice payday closer to his wife. I liked him in Vancouver as a person. Felt bad for him as a player, especially the end of last season, he'd see so many shots a night and lose because Canucks couldn't score.

The only penalty to being over is having your cap reduced next season and the Blackhawks are the NHL's darling so I don't think they really care about being over.

Ron hainsey is the slowest morherfucker on planet earth lol he's truly one of the past dinosaurs hanging on from a pre-speed-NHL era. He's strong and is gutsy and can trust him to PK well but 5 on 5 he's painful
