X-Men: Dark Phoenix (June 7, 2019)

I've never been so bored from watching a trailer before.

On top of just straight ripping off X3, we also get the way overdone Magneto is also in the movie with a different perspective than Charles and becomes a side protagonist- How exactly has Charles stayed "Good friends" with Magneto after all this shit he keeps pulling over and over again exactly? Also, while I understand mind power and magnetism powers as being invisible, seeing people wave a hand and point a finger followed by things just moving is really super boring to watch. Coulda added some mystical firey looking effects for when the phoenix is using her power at least to give it some pizazz.

with Captain Marvel taking place in the past they could retconn mutants into MCU, not that they need to considering the Scarlet Witch is a mutant and a main member of the Avengers.

That's kind part and parcel to them really. Partly because Magneto usually means well just kind of extreme and one sided.

Ugg this trailer though. They were supposed to fix the problems with x3 not redo them minus wolverine

They *were* friends. In the past. They do play both sides of the extremes and that's why the dont stay friends, but opposing sides with an old history. First Class did this really, really, really well. And then they did it again in the next 3 movies and it kind of makes Charles seem like the abused person in an unhealthy relationship. "Oh, he's a good guy when he's not murdering people by the thousands. I'm glad I can call him my friend!" Its just reached its breaking point for me.

It's fucking tiring, exhausting, repetitive, and straight up unnecessary at this point. It's akin to god damn origin movie #4 for "insert hero here" for me. We fucking get it. They have fundamentally different views. If nothing else, X3 at least got this right. Xavier and Magneto were straight up on opposite sides through and through, yet Magneto was quick to tell a mutant mocking Xavier's death to shut the fuck up.

Future Past did it pretty well too. Common enemy had them team up and Magneto regretted wasting all that time fighting his friend as he died.

I feel like MCU X-Men should slowly build up to Magneto. Start off with something new. Mr Sinister, Lilandra, Omega Red, etc. We're obviously pretty burned out from watching Charles & Erik clash ideals every time.

She's only not been referred to as a mutant due to legalities. Literally the closest they've come to describing her is "he's fast and she's weird". Considering Quicksilver has been in both it'd be easy to call them mutants now that they can actually use that term in MCU.

At this point, can we just have Fox instead take the animated cartoon dark phoenix arc, splice it into one giant episode and release that instead? I wouldn't mind hearing that opening theme in one of those premium sound theaters.
