I don't see why this is such a big deal. Almost all serious shooters keep their charts handy. It's math, do we want to ban math?

how much do you even need to worry about that stuff shooting down on people from 1000 feet away? .223 muzzle velocity is over 3000 fps and if you're just spraying into a crowd what does it matter if it drops 6 inches

Usually in situations such as these, people want answers. Now, obviously some planning was involved due to the amount of guns purchased. But notes like that means he wasn't just preparing to snap and shoot a random place, but that he specifically wanted to shoot at this event.

By itself it doesn't mean much, just another piece to the puzzle.

I just don't see this as the big deal everyone is making it out to be. There are apps out there that do the same things for lazier people. He wasn't firing in a way to really need that anyway, so I think it's just a pad from a previous range trip he left in his case.
