not even playing devil's advocate one way or the other; that's an issue I don't have the time or knowledge to dive into right now. but it's definitely not as simple as "keep guns away from crazies, who could possibly disagree??"

But...something was said. Multiple times. The problem is even if it's brought to the appropriate departments attention, legally they had no avenue to prevent him from acquiring a gun or taking away what weapons he had. That's the problem.

At this point, I think the only "hard enough" some want is to people to just walk up to them with a gun and blow 'em away. And I can empathize with that sentiment as it's not far removed from people condoning that dad charging the pedo.

I'm sure they vetted which ones would speak, cause I know first hand some parents that would not be as cordial as these people were. That's probably what they're talking about. I'm surprised there isn't a clip of a parent or student going off on him for the laws he's repealed that contributed towards this, or towards the NRA guy who enables acts like this with his political contributions.

He's not up for re-election until 2022. I don't think he's worried too much.

As far as Trump goes, I just think at his core he can't empathize with how other people are feeling. He knows, to an extent, how to react to those people to make them think he cares, but I don't think it moves him the way it would a normal person. It would not shock me at all if within a few weeks we get a story about him complaining about the survivors or making some other insensitive remark.

100% correct. I mean obviously I haven't met Trump nor do I have the doctoral chops to officially diagnose him, but if he's NPD (narcissist) like he seems to be, that is exactly how he functions.


it's why I almost (emphasis on ALMOST) feel bad for people like him sometimes. they are literally incapable of the same emotions the rest of us have. I'm sure I've mentioned this before but one of my (former) best friends is NPD and it's just weird how alien his functioning is to a normal person's. he's good at faking it because you have to be in order to succeed, but once I truly got to know him I slowly realized it's all fake. all of it. he is incapable of feeling for people other than himself.

I dunno man. Keep in mind that sometimes the unnamed source is Trump himself or someone looking to paint Trump favorably in the media. Also let's not forget that just a month or two ago he was talking about coming up with a solution for DREAMers by having a "bill of love", and we've seen how that played out. This is also the man who told a grieving widow that her husband "knew what he signed up for."

I hope you are right, but I haven't seen anything from this man to suggest he will do anything more than talk.
