My question is, when he refuses to to pay that $1100 what is the next step? I would assume that eventually if he continues to fight against his fine it will escalate into jail time for not paying it. On top of that, the every changing description of hate speech makes it very hard for me to get on board with some sort of legislation against it. We've already seen a shift in what is considered "acceptable" and what is not, whether it be for the better is still up in the air. If people are going have their past dredged for offenses according to today's standards then that's going to be a problem.

8chan is its own problem and is notorious for hosting child abuse material (Its why it won't appear on google's search) and last I remembered person who runs that website is in the Philippines. Either way I doubt anyone will be touching that website for a while.

The entire internet has large adult website networks that could have the same thing said about them. It seems like a very disingenuous way to attack a website. I don't use 4chan or 8chan, but when Reddit is trying to run the show and have all that market share, I'm sure they'll do what they can to discredit either site.

In the US, failing to pay that fine would result in contempt of court, which comes with a small amount of jail time (3 to 6ish months iirc). If you continue to fail to comply you can continuously be sent back I believe.

Also, what shifting definition of hate speech? You're gonna have to give examples of how something is hate speech today when it wasn't yesterday. Seems like you caught Day's "both sides" flu.
