I keep hearing people talking about machine guns and full auto, but I don't know if any reports of the actual weapons used has said as much.

Reports of rapid fire shots mean little. You can easily fire 3 rounds per second with an AR-15 semi automatic. He's firing into a crowd, it's not like he needed to aim.

the one you posted two pages ago? Yeah, i saw

hard to conclude on that though.. there are a dozen different things that are unique to certain areas that could be [likely] throwing the stats off.

If you're totally swayed by that chart alone then I've got some sweet charts on black violence for you that would make you want to deport all 45m+ of them and damn the efforts it'd take

the chart you linked makes NO effort to separate anything from the raw data of gun deaths - people have pointed out suicide, accidents, etc inflating numbers of specific states. So, it's a bad source to use to come up with strong conclusions on gun murders, let alone mass shootings

then I said if that's all it takes for you to conclude something specific on data so broad so easily there are charts on black violence and killings that would inevitably lead you to the conclusion that they're a blight - because you don't care about the specifics

yeah, there are like... thousands of little infographics like that. And most of them tell just as much of the story as the chart he posted a few days ago

I'm sure he'll immediately poke holes in that^ (and rightfully so) but is perfectly fine with the chart he posted, even after people have poked the holes they could in it

Arguing that gun control is great for reducing suicide, but meaningless for murder, would make me ask the simple question "uh, why?"

But nobody explicitly makes that argument because it's fucking asinine, so they just hint at it by disregarding the data we have or zeroing in on a miniscule percentage of victims to move the goalposts beyond the ability of data to be meaningful.
