idk why I find Fiye's notion that Trump distracted from a damning news article by getting into a nuclear dick measuring contest with an unstable third world nation quite so optimistic, but I do

Here's where I'm at:
* I don't think Trump has a strategy. He's just an unbalanced asshole dealing with dementia.
* No one that still supports Trump and thinks he is innocent of wrongdoing reads the NY Times or would be convinced by that article, so there is no point in distracting from it.
* People probably read the NY Times and support Trump.
* Republican congressmen do everything in bad faith, with many operating in overt extramural interest.
* Although the majority of voters (~30%) did not get what they wanted, most Americans did get either what they voted for (~28%) or abstained from (~42%).


I've never been more disappointed with our form of government and Americans. I feel that our generation of Americans is fucked because too many of us are stupid and/or nihilistic.
