many evils have been done by capitalist governments and capitalists themselves, that goes without saying. evil is in human nature and no ideology can entirely alleviate that condition. but if you can't see the difference between Joe McCarthy getting 300 or so Hollywood workers blacklisted and Stalin's purges where, according to the NKVD's own records (which likely understate the case), 1.5 million people were arrested and out of them 680,000 were executed, you have totally lost perspective.
there is no credible argument you can make that capitalist regimes have behaved as brutally as communist ones. there is no capitalist regime in history that compares to Stalin's Russia, or Mao's China, or Pol Pot's Cambodia. there are few that would even match beloved Cuba in degree of political oppression, despite their celebrated healthcare.
The glib answer is that communist governments don't get to separate their actions from their beliefs, why should capitalist ones.
The more nuanced answer is, the government in these instance chose victims that it thought had the upper hand and couldn't resist for whatever reason. Poverty, uneducated, terminal illness, second class status, or even against political headwinds. This disparity happens in capitalist governance. A more economically equal society with an educated populous striving towards equality under the law, these things are less likely to happen.
I haven't lost perspective. It is hard to get exact numbers on capitalist-related deaths. Many times we can't even agree on causes(such has for profit health), let alone get numbers. Brutal, outright murder is easy to tally than causality, which is why not only why my references had to be explicit, but also how capitalism can distance themselves from their own brutal methods.
That having been said, the number DOES increase if I add all the "interventions" the US has done, particularly in regards to North Korea where the US bragged about killing 20% of its population. All in the name of capitalism. But then the argument becomes about foreign governments and actors as opposed to its own citizens, and that's not an argument I really want to have for the umpteenth time.
But here's one last one for funsies: Chilling legal memo from Obama DOJ justifies assassination of US citizens
the intervention in North Korea was in the name of capitalism? that was literally, not figuratively, a textbook example of communist aggression. a predatory land-grab so egregious in its violation of international law the U.N., not just the U.S., sanctioned military intervention to defend the South. i won't defend the strategic bombing campaign, though a leftist taking Curtis fucking LeMay's off-the-cuff utterance as proof is pretty rich, but to lay the conflict at the altar of capitalism is absurd.
but you're right murder is easier to account for than causality. it's why we prosecute murderers more harshly than candy bar manufacturers. if you do want to speak to causality though you should remember capitalism has reduced absolute poverty more than any other system of economics, and absolute poverty is the single greatest cause of human suffering. whatever the failings of American healthcare off that metric alone it could be argued capitalism is the greatest force of good in human history, causally speaking.
My god this thread has a whole lot of stupid lately.
Is it so hard NOT to punch people, and use your god damn words instead?
If someones going around yelling shit like "fuck them niggers, get these spics out of our america" with a nazi armband on, then words probably wont work and they need to be fed a knuckle sandwich.
Someone in a MAGA hat sayin "DEY TUK UH JERBS" can probably be talked to.
I know I've joked about punching people, when people have actually talked shit to me, using racial slurs in front of my family, I didn't punch them. I talked to them back and explained how ignorant they are. Maybe it's because I know how to hurt people physically and trained to only use it when words don't work? With that said, I'm not everyone, and if people talk shit, they better be ready to get hit.
Can we use the proper terminology of chat shit, get banged?
Ok there cowboy. To answer your glibness that's because communism IS a form of government and capitalism IS NOT. The closest capitalism comes to that is certain forms of government allow/disallow for the greater/lesser amounts of economic freedom. Secondly we (and for that matter most successful countries) are and have always been a mixed economy. We aren't even really that high up on the economic freedom index. So any economic correlation you derive from our government in general can go just as pointedly to socialism
Yeah sorry there is a world of difference between actively doing something to someone and passively letting it happen naturally. There is a world of difference between creating more victims and refusing to in theory get rid of some at the cost of creating others. If you really don't see the difference then you need to lock yourself away for life for not flying down to the Caribbean states and helping out the people effected by the Hurricanes. You and well all of us are clearly now responsible for the lives lost. Though not as much as the people who sold homes to those people knowing it was hurricane alley.
As far as the rest that only works under the huge assumption that somehow the sum total of things needed would remain static (spoiler it never does) and all you have to do is spread it out evenly.... and yah know hope those doing said spreading out aren't going to make things even more uneven like they tend to do.
I'm gunna lay something on you that would blow your mind if you weren't already in full propaganda mode. Economic inequality isn't a bad thing. How it is achieved/maintained and the levels of it can certainly be very bad but it's not inherently bad. Economics specifically aside inequality in outcome is how things SHOULD work. A society should be striving for equality in treatment giving everyone an equal chance to do as well or badly as the other. And that has done more to lift more people out of poverty than redistribution could ever hope to accomplish because it actually creates wealth for EVERYONE instead of limiting, shuffling it around and consuming it
That's what you get when you let commies live... anyways a second attempt to bring this back to people we can make fun of related to political correctness
Billboards featuring Melania Trump and the slogan "just imagine how far you can go with a little bit of English" were removed Tuesday from the Croatian capital after her lawyer threatened a lawsuit.
Is that a monster combo or ULTRAAAAA?
i am for economic inequality as long as im the rich guy

It's sorta fun to watch them rip themselves apart.
Them being sjws.
if you can get past the incendiary title (which actually made me lolz) he makes some valid points. it's rarely brought up but vis-a-vis white women black women are more likely to be abused by their partners, they're more likely to experience sexual assault, they're more likely to be the victim of partner homicide, and they're less likely in all of these things to seek help from state resources and/or charitable organizations such as social services and battered women's shelters. and when they bring up these issues it often falls on deaf ears from other members of the black community. as he puts it,
when black women share that we pose the same existential and literal danger to them that whiteness does to us; and when black women ask us to give them the benefit of the doubt about street harassment and sexual assault and other forms of harassment and violence we might not personally witness; and when black women tell us that allowing our cousins and brothers and co-workers and niggas to use misogynistic language propagates that culture of danger; and when black women admit how scary it can be to get followed and approached by a man while waiting for a bus or walking home from work; and when black women articulate how hurtful it is for our reactions to domestic abuse and their rapes and murders to be “what women need to do differently to prevent this from happening to them” instead of “what we (men) need to do differently to prevent us from doing this to them”; their words are met with resistance and outright pushback. After demanding from white people that we’re listened to and believed and that our livelihoods are considered, our ears shut off and hearts shut down when black women are pleading with us.
no AG, the legitimate concerns of a minority population mean that they are automatically SJWs who need to be immediately mockingly disregarded
