You forgot about the bear attacks when sally gets her first period.
Is this the modern version of "you aren't allowed to have friends"?
Honestly it looks like a poe to me.
Apparently it's real and it's people not understanding that this shit goes on in every relationship

Lawyering for a black guy in Mississippi makes people uncomfortable.
Based on the article, it sounds more like Huck Finning it than it is the themes.
unfortunate but nothing new, schools and libraries have been banning that book for decades
and may i reiterate how mwah the Asians are with their racism
I mean, Asians are racist against other Asians - the most prominent is prob the triangle of hate between Japanese, Chinese, and Koreans, although all 3 enjoy benefits from one another whether it's the KDramas/KPop that China has gone insane over or Japan's anime industry.
I get questions from relatives back in the land of the far east in regards to racism and they seem to all have this built in belief that "blax are ruining your country again, I saw on Weibo that they were fighting against police and looting again". Western racism simply does not stick with Asians likely because of how homogeneous they are.

Spoiler: show
i feel like schools could use a bit more book banning honestly. how many kids actually enjoyed reading 1984 or animal farm or crap? most of that stuff is either shit tier writing or so old that its no longer that relatable to kids these days, due to the archaic wording used.
if the point of making kids read books is to get them to learn to love reading, those books fail miserably. only kids who already read a lot and can handle such subjects comfortable will usually find that enjoyable reading. most kids are just going to read that crap and never want to read again, which is a tragic shame. it's not like there's a shortage of authors that have captivated people today. For crying out loud, harry potters first book has sold over 120 million copies, making it the bestselling non religious book of all time. it might not have the "classic charm and intrigue" (blegh) of the scarlet letter, but it sure is a heck of a lot less dry - and encourages kids to read more stories and broaden their knowledge, not for grades, but for fun.
Ban shakespeare, kids hate it. Ban reading too actually.
