boring
boring
I never have a shit in the first place.
Only thing I can say is they shouldn't have fired him just called out where he was wrong reasonably. This is the problem with idiots on the extreme left and right they go for the overkill button and make a bigger cock up of an issue instead of calming the fuck down. The problem with firing him is now he's made a martyr and it might have gone too far.
I mean its not like it wasn't a PR nightmare and their engineers were distracted with this bullshit.
He wasn't wrong reasonably, though. He was publicly airing the sexist bullshit that every woman in a technical discipline has to put up with.
He should have been called out on it back when this was just some internal memo and fired instead of pussyfooting around until it became a PR disaster.
If anything positive can be said for the guy, it's that he at least said it instead of just believing it and remaining silent.
If anything negative can be said for Google and tech in general, it's that he felt comfortable sharing an opinion with the rest of the company that was obviously based on a Victorian appreciation for the female mental constitution.
At least the guy has a lot of job offers waiting for him since he was so stunning and brave.
I liked the part where women stayed home from work because they were too triggered.
It's funny that this guy got so caught up in Google's "we value diversity!" PR campaign that he needed to write a screed about it
as opposed to actually looking around the office and realizing that the company with 80% men in engineering roles and 80% of their top directors being men and realized that it's actually just PR and they obviously don't really give a shit about gender diversity.
Oh archi, you know thats just not true.
Leave it to an engineer to take obvious PR bullshit at face value
Maybe majority of women just dont want to do these jobs, specifically cimp sci or engineering?? No, that cant be it, thats too basic and doesnt suit the agenda.
jeff lord just got canned by CNN for tweeting "sieg heil" as a joke
yes, its all PR purposes, when 20% of all comp sci graduates are female, the companies should be pushing for a 50/50 split. They shouldnt hire the best candidates, they should just hire all 20% of those females and then 20% of the remaining males, thats true equality. Why hire the best when you can hire solely based on the color of their skin or the fact they have boobs? Oh wait, they're already doing this, and its still not enough.
