Considering youth subcultures in Boston have a history going back 40-50 years of violently brutalizing nazi sympathizers and forming FBI-recognized gangs to conduct violence against neo-nazis?

Edit: from a personal perspective, the last time I saw someone with nazi patch in Boston (10+ years ago) he was being beaten by a group of 3 others with brass knuckles and what looked to be a sock full of nickles or some shit.

Personally, I'm optimistic.

Nah, I only hit the first one in D.C. which was pretty tame despite the bomb threat. Just a lot of drinking and talking shit about the state of the industry and how most of the people there were confused by the accusations of being right-wing death squads when we were all tree hugging liberals. The accusations of misogyny were equally amusing after I spent a good half hour that night talking level design with a lady dev.

you should come to the left then where identity politics are fucking garbage and universal healthcare and labor rights rule. If you want to support the Google guy you should support the only team that cares about labor!

And then there was that time Joel Ward eliminated the Bruins in OT and a flurry of "fucking nigger" tweets made their way to the interwebs, or that time PK Subban was probably the Habs best player in a series against the Bruins and more racist tweets found their way to the interwebs, and they were all found to actually be from the Boston area, not rogue Bruins fans from outside of the area.

Anytime you get a huge collective of people with the same ideals, their conscience goes out the window, and pack mentality takes over.
