If only the south had the foresight to wait 140 years and gift a statue of Robert E Lee to New York. My favorite part is that the land under that GW statue is american soil.

also the whole Washington fought to free his country from imperial overlords versus fighting to keep a race-based chattel slavery system going thing.
one position is p in line with modern morality whereas the other, not so much. not so much.
This really is the time to tear down these monuments, right as Trump neutered himself by finally criticizing racists. He'd have a hard time backtracking again to "wait but confederate monuments are good tho".
I say we replace all confederate statues with Grant as a powerplay.
for the record though i don't think these monuments should exist one should never cheer mob rule and the violation of property rights. if you want to right the wrongs of the world do so in a lawful way like enlightening a bunch of big dumb autistic virgins on the internet.
it is not, but he wrote no part of the Constitution and preserving slavery was not why he fought, or why the war began.
Fun fact: it is physically impossible to say "The War of Northern Aggression" in anything but a thick southern accent.
Go on, try it.
Good on this guy for punching this moron, but what terrible form with that fist.
Spoiler: show
why is the tip of his middle finger weird.
As an aside I detest the idea of many in these forums that assaulting a nonviolent individual is something to be praised. I hate commies with all my heart and would love to see them and their ilk scorched from the earth, but in a land with rules and laws I would never advocate for punching one that was nonviolent.
Yeah lets not punch Nazis and just let them express their opinions. Nothing bad ever happened.

Intellectually, I know you are right. And it often does make the person throwing the punch look like the asshole.
Emotionally, I am all for it. Like having a brother put his finger an inch from your face while chanting "I'm not touching you". Feels impossible to ignore, and you feel justified resorting to violence.
Yes, it certainly does feel good to see, and as much as I may delight in all out bloodshed between antifa and nazi's I daresay we should strive to rise above the satisfaction of punching those we dislike. I generally take all posts involving punching nazis with this train of thought but I believe I've seen some here attempt to argue that it not a bad thing to do in any light and that is disgusting to me.
Bruh.
not sure how historically accurate this is so maybe someone who knows more can chime in but here's maybe why people shouldn't resort to violence,

We went over this a while back, and I believe most of us agreed on that it was morally acceptable, but legally wrong. But, we've already assessed that the far-left and far-right dont give a shit about the law, and some people had some major issues differentiating from morally acceptable to legally acceptable.
It was around that time that Spencer guy got sucker punched.
A yuge difference between 1930s and now is that opinions on Nazis are pretty negative.
I will agree that if you bully, beatdown, run over, or shoot republicans it will give them more support. See: House Majority Whip (Who once called himself David duke without the baggage).
it's utter nonsense with enough historical dates and terminology thrown in to trick the superficially interested eager to superimpose the past unto the present (Antifa analogous with the Soviet-backed communist movements of the 30s? laugh.). the thuggish muscle element of the Nazi Party known as the SA did not begin their violent ways in defense of public property, they did not resort to violence as self-defense in response to communist assaults; they were from their inception as much a lawless criminal element as any communist organization. the party as a whole was founded in violence both rhetorical and practical and used all forms of it to gain support and combat their political enemies, most famously during their 1923 coup d'etat attempt that saw Hitler and company jailed for treason (if only they had been executed for it).
and it should really go without saying but the primary factor for the party's rise in the late-20s and early-30s was not because of "fear-mongering communists" but because The Great Depression destroyed the Weimer Republic's civil society, discredited all establishment political entities, and indelibly radicalized German politics.
