I can see it now. After finishing 6th in the Prem, Arsenal manage to make it to the Europa League Final but narrowly lose in pks in what was an incredibly tense match. After the game Wenger says to reporters that he would have stepped down as manager after the game had they won and had he got Arsenal back to the CL as a result. But since they lost, he says he can't leave since he needs to get them back to the CL because it's "where they belong".

Next day Wenger signs a 2 year extension.

Fifa give the green light for VAR at the World Cup.
