I wasn't able to watch New Beginning Day 2 live, so I checked spoilers to see if I should go back and watch it.

Short answer: Yes, 100% watch it if you have the chance (at least the last 3 matches).

Jay White beats Omega for the US Title. Then the following happens:

Hangman Page walks out to challenge Jay White, but Kenny Omega stops him. Cody, Scurll, and the Young Bucks come out to resolve the dispute, and Cody hits Kenny with a Cross Rhodes. He and Page are about to continue attacking him when Kota Ibushi runs out for the save. As Bullet Club retreats, Omega and Ibushi are alone in the ring. Ibushi offers a handshake, but Kenny declines, and they hug. They leave the ring together to end the show.

Takeover was A. Not giving it a + because as of right now Moon is not champ material and needs to step it up. Not that I thought Bazler should've won, but at least she has something about her (submission magician and ruthless) while Moon is just, well, there. Promos are garbage and her constant screaming is getting real annoying real quick.

Glad Almas won. He's improved a ton since arriving and proved he's not a bust. Now, time to watch New Beginning!

This reminds me a lot of Power Struggle last year where the show was a much bigger deal than I expected. Makabe/Suzuki is a match that I'm very interested in if they're both on their game. My concern is that Makabe will revert to his post-Honma injury self after their match.

The Bucks didn't retain? What? Awesome match there anyway. RPG3k as a wrestling team are very good, but I just don't care all that much about them. I want to, but I don't.

Page getting a push isn't all that surprising to me. I don't know if they are fan votes or kayfabe, but he did win ROH's breakout award or something, and I'm expecting an uptick for him this year. Yujiro has been on Leo Tonga (or whatever his name is now) duty while Hangman is... spending time with people of more importance. I thought I was sad to see Hangman turn on Kenny, even though Marty is more "the jokester" than the villain at times, I'm not fussed, but not the Bucks too! I really expected the Tongans, honorary Tongan, and Yujiro to come out, then decide to turn their back.

Oh, and Golden☆Lovers. Crap. I'm going to have to keep that star handy. I'm not crying. YOU'RE crying!

In the past, NJPW has done things like 2nd tier titles changing hands mid-tour, but that doesn't really affect how they have to book going forward.

First, writing Tana off, now a MAJOR angle is simply not what I would have expected.

Even though I know I shouldn't get ahead of myself til we actually get a feel for what all of this will mean, I really hope these guys buck the trend. When Hiromu came back, it was a matter of time til he picked a stable. People were intrigued of the idea of Jay White possibly going it alone. Golden☆Lovers shouldn't just slide in with Taguchi Japan/Sekigun. If this is a separation from Bullet Club, I'm really hoping those two just have original and wacky adventures together.

Gah I have a concert during Royal Rumble. First time I won't be watching it live in years. Despite the shit from the past few years, it's still one of my favorite match concepts.

Ignoring "LOL Big Show and Kane are going to unceremoniously throw out anybody you care about" or "Randy Boreton wins" the match itself can and should be enjoyable. Even with a very narrow field of possible winners, it still can be fun. The biggest problem to me is having rumble fatigue by the end of the show.

Remember when Hell in a Cell was a huge deal, not just something they do because the PPV schedule dictates it? (Insert MITB, Elimination Chamber, etc.) We haven't even been to the first show where there are two "rumble" matches and I already am terribly worried about the slog that it'll be to get through them.

Worst match of takeover was Dream carrying Ohno. Botchy as hell seemed to me at least.
As great as Gargano/Almas was I enjoyed Black/Cole more. Sure it wasn't as technical wrestling wise, but I'm personally a bigger fan of Black & Cole over Gargano & Almas.

Would fucking love it if Black showed up at the Rumble tonight. /fingerscrossed.
