Gohan has always had his hidden power. Vegeta even recently said that Gohan had the most potential of them all(U6vU7 tourny). And he should have never dropped in power as much as he did. That was a bigger ass pull than his power-ups. And we all know that saiyins hax.

Not really. He hasn't done anything special. He's just done regular training. No gravity machines, def not trained by Whis, etc. Just train, standard training; and that nigga took like 5 years off of training, of course he's gonna get that weak. Don't lose it ya lose it. Basic biology there, lol.

Not to mention if you think he's trained hard enough to have reached elder kai's power unlock, remember that ssj3 is 4x stronger than ssj2. Goku, without the limitations of a body (in other world) took 7 years of hard training just to reach this form, and he didn't even master it. And Gohan was even able to shit on that just by having Kai dance around him for a day (and at this point he's weaker than he was when he fought Cell).

He's do nothing training wise to even come close to making up for that kinda plot device, lol

Except in those 5 years off, he barely lost any power. He was still able to go ss2. He was still going toe to toe with Dabura (who they said was around Cell's level). 5 years of 0 training and he had a minimal drop in power during Z. Then a year or two off leading into super and he went from the strongest fighter to not even sure if he had enough power to go SS1 during Golden freeza.

Also, dude busted ass when he was a kid. He was fighting and training and coming close to death constantly. How many Zenkais did he get on Namek lol. Then once Trunks showed up, he trained with his daddies for 3 years non stop, and then a year in the chamber with Goku (which had increased gravity).

Gohan has been strong as shit since Z started, and theres most plot devices (or holes) that weaken than there are that boost him up.

ssj2 isn't a set level of strength. It's a multiplier. It just takes your current power and x100.

He can lose a big amount of strength and still multiply that reduced strength by turning into ssj.

Can we all just agree that the characters 'power levels' are inconsistent as fuck and they're more or less as strong as the plot needs them to be? Because that's the truth. There is no constant scale or gauge or etc at which to keep a concrete measurement of all this BS, so debating who was how strong when is totally pointless.

Take current Gohan's power give it to Future Gohan, and you have a legitimately great character.

This a thousand fucking times over. Gohan from the original Future Trunks movie was an absolute badass especially after he lost one of his arms. That´s a Gohan I´d accept as the true heir to Goku´s legacy.

Edit: for clarification I like movie Future Trunks almost as much as I like Vegeta. That says a lot considering how much of a Vegeta fanboy I am.

Either way you want to look at it, it only makes sense that he loses power.

Even the power he had from Cell Saga was earned. He built his way up to that. If he kept that forever? sure whatever.

Buu saga comes around, he gets a free power up via 0 effort, then doesn't train after the what? couple days that he uses it (buu saga was a lot of episodes, but took place over a very short time period), then immediately goes back to a sedentary life style; after having never even trained w/ his new powers. Yeah ggs when you get weaker, lol

I don't even really disagree with that. All I was trying to say is that the scale made no sense. After 5 years of no training, he lost a little power. But then Super rolls around, and after 2 years of no training he loses damn near everything.

They did this to a few people, Krillin and Goku both got hurt by bullets for christ's sake, thats shit they outgrew in the beginning of DB. But the got their power back a lot quicker than Gohan. They left Gohan extra shitty just so it would be more exciting now that he's back to where he should be.

Future Gohan had the best attitude (last of the Z-Fighter´s completely outclassed by 17 and 18 fighting in a world that´s mostly in shambles due to 17 and 18, much akin to Future Trunks vs Black Goku in DBS), definately the best fighting style and the best physique. I can´t even believe one would argue about this.

I'm hoping they go a different route since that's specifically what Piccolo's training focused on. Gohan wore his manface the entirety of the last episode too, something that I don't recall since the Cell fight.
