Is that the shit that took Michael Jackson from us?
Is that the shit that took Michael Jackson from us?
No.

Also, for what it's worth, Melatonin never did shit for me, tried it several times. On June 25, 2009, Michael Jackson died of acute propofol and benzodiazepine intoxication
Now I just smoke a joint before bed.
I've had propofol once. it's... I can't even. you fall asleep immediately and wake up feeling refreshed and relaxed. like a good night's sleep with a little valium mixed in. no anesthesia grogginess/double vision/etc. AT ALL. none. I can see why he got addicted.
laid in bed for over an hour last night. I was really relaxed, so it's not the anxiety keeping me up. I might try melatonin after all; my sleep cycle is definitely shifted due to my work schedule so I need to do a little more research on the interaction between melatonin and Shift Work Sleep Disorder (which apparently is a real thing). most websites I've seen say that it's not good for normal insomnia but does have certain applications toward cycle-shifted people (like resetting jet lag).
in the end though? I just decided to smoke a pinchie. I was trying to all-or-nothing it for a week, but apparently my brain decided that isn't going to work. fair enough, biology is what it is. which is the whole reason I'm cutting back; I suspected my body was getting too reliant on that daily bowl (or three). scale it back slowly, I guess...
i realize you already have your answer but yeah, melatonin never does shit for me. my parents say it works for them. dunno, maybe it varies person to person. wouldn't surprise me.
could always try treating the source of the insomnia (anxiety or whatever). usually easier said than done, i know, but still an avenue of attack worth keeping in mind.
edit: ah, i see the source was lack of blaze.
nah, more responses are always good. this just confirms anecdotally what the internet also confirmed: melatonin really isn't useful for insomnia.
I'm just overthinking this (me? really?). years of regular marijuana use -> quit smoking -> insomnia.
Side note I am not dying, just randomly contemplating mortality.
I got to thinking about it and the most distressing thing about my own death, imo, is that when it comes whether it be tomorrow or 50 years from now, there will always be that awesome movie or TV show or videogame that was on the way that I was really looking forward to but I died before it releases. Booooooo.
So it wasn't just the plot of Fanboys? Not that it's all that unrealistic (the basic premise, not the movie itself).
So it's become very regular now that pretty much 3-10 times a day a customer will tell us our website says we are open when it doesn't. Every single one of them doesn't understand a search page isn't the website for every company that appears on that page at the same time. Now I got one that tried to prove to me our website said we were open... with a print out of a map from google maps that google also put some of our company info on. I just had to stare at him and ask if he thought we were a subsidiary of google or something if he thought google maps was our website
;_; Don't remind me! My best friend who just recently pass was a huge star wars fan who, like me, really enjoyed the last two recent films. And I keep thinking how he won't get to see the third to find out how it wrapped up. It hurts >.<;
This is one of the many reasons I pray that Heaven truly exists.Maybe he lucked out and gets prime seating now.
Had a job interview for a county job yesterday and I feel like I completely blew it. The first question was so technical about the position itself and I felt like the ones interviewing me were just staring me down the whole time, it was really unnerving. What’s worse is I typically excel in interviews but now I’m feeling pretty defeated. I won’t know anything for a few weeks which is even worse.
Was the question something you knew?
Did you research the position before the interview?
Things keep going back and forth with my sister. One day they are trying to cure the next treat/extend life. One day everything looks fine next unable to take meds. Gets denied some new low side effect chemo then yay gets it though not FDA approved yet but it's pretty awesome just take a couple pills a day and don't lose your hair.
Now the pharmacists is fucking up telling her they don't have her prescription and must be because her blood work came back bad and her marrow isn't keeping up. Turns out nope everything is fine... or as can be and he was just pulling stuff out his ass for whatever reason
Basically the question was asking me to describe the duties and expectations of the position. The only information about what this entails is vague at best and in the job posting which I did reference specific examples. However the look on the face of one of the people on the panel was of “wtf is this woman talking about” , but she definitely had RBF so who knows lol.
Yes though like I stated above it’s not exactly clear cut. It’s an entry level position that duties vary from security at the airport to clerical to working in the courthouses, etc. So it was a bit difficult to answer fully.
To chime in on it, it's a seldom used position that i'm slightly familiar with, that for whatever reason (more than likely employee costs) have never been converted over to the higher tier position. I did point out a couple of specific places where they are staffed at which she mentioned, and I suspect that's what may have thrown them a bit for a loop. It is one of those quirky get your foot in the door kind of positions though that's really not defined well.
Bleh two nights in a row of sleeping like ass and I'm dragging now at work.
