Flying out of Dulles is always a random fail. DCA or bust

I get pulled aside on Monday and told that I have to head out to Costa Mesa, CA to help our parent Club with their software roll out. Get told today that I'm essentially on my own for booking(which is preferable.) I hate flying. HATE. And there are only 2 direct flights from Pittsburgh to LAX. Spirit and Southwest. Spirit it is.

Otherwise I would need to fly into Atlanta, Chicago, or Dallas then take the connector to John Wayne. Instead I'll deal with the traffic coming down from Los Angeles. Shit is going to suuuuuuuuck.

Haha I was on the West Side Highway last Sunday. Luckily traffic wasn't too bad.

The trip in general is now in jeopardy. My grandmother(who is a miserable jerk) is on a morphine drip and could go at any time. So I'm not sure what's going to happen.

I’m losing my voice due to having to constantly talk at work/yell out orders. Also I keep getting fucking reply all’s for the county job because people are idiots.

I'm currently scared about a student and I'm not sure if I am overreaching (I definitely have an overactive imagination), or if I should report to the police or what.

No one has control over the kid, neither us or his mom. He will just walk off out of class and there's nothing that can be done.


We are requiredto call the parents twice in a semester about failing grades in order to actually fail them. Friday I did my list of calls with one of the office staff members (she speaks Spanish, I don't).

So of course this kid is on the list. The mom picked up and must have had him on speaker phone because he was also there talking over his mom. It was suggested that he come to tutoring twice a week (M/W), and the mom was like yes, but the student was screaming into the phone "No! NOOOOO! You'll see on Monday, you'll see what happens on Monday."


Now, legally since he didn't specifically say that to us, it can't be considered a threat against a teacher (for suspension). Security is going to follow him on Monday and hover near my room on Monday, but what about Tuesday, Wednesday, etc.?


It could be nothing. I could be overreacting, like I said. I haven't said it to anyone else because I don't want them to worry.

But I just want to say our laws fucking suck regarding suspending students. It's so fucking hard, you have no idea. And with a kid as angry as this kid is, he shouldn't be in school.
