I had a savings account with them when they were ING US about 10 years ago. They offered those 3% Orange accounts for awhile before the economy tanked.

My advice above stands, if you're paying a person to manage your retirement account, you're paying too much.

I don't know, and don't really care. It's not getting power, so I don't know if it's just the coil and whatever is connected to it or if there's some other problem.

I was going to take my dad's old propane smoker anyway, so it's not worth looking at imo. Just wanted it for yesterday for smoking pork belly. Ended up putting it on the grill and couldn't get the chips to smoke because I had to keep the grill temp so low and it's a propane grill.

This is so relatable lmao. My grandma is telling me I have to get rid of my two snakes before I have a kid. She's gonna be mortified when I'm posting pics on fb with my snakes, dogs, and future baby in shenanigans rolling around the floor haha.

i mean, i'd still be wary of letting the snakes (or cats and dogs- really any pet that could, in theory, lash out and do damage) have too much contact with baby; babies aren't always good at handling animals. My parents' miniature dachshund is a sweetheart, has never bitten anyone, well socialized, and loves people, but she avoids one of my grandnephews because he pet her waaaaaay too hard. she actually almost bit him. it wouldn't have done anything because she's tiny, old, and has no teeth, but you could see she was thoroughly fed up with his shit and wanted him the fuck away from her immediately or else. first and only time she's ever acted that way. i didn't want her to scare him, so i scooped her up and told him to be gentle. wasn't much later he was diagnosed with autism, tho, so maybe that was a factor. who knows.


she's cool with my other grandnephew, though. he was super gentle.

They're gentle until they're not... and babies and these dumb parents don't know enough to read dog body language to avoid a mauling.

well, i think the point of those is less "this breed never really does anything bad" but more "this breed has an undeservedly violent reputation, and they're just regular dogs" which is true. closely supervised contact between babies and pets is actually a good thing: you acclimate both the pet to the baby, and teach the baby how to handle the pet correctly and read its body language. and with you standing by to make sure both are on best behavior, no one gets hurt/scared.


i think the problem is, as you say, too many people forget that even the friendliest pet can be pushed to the breaking point, and children spend literally all their time pushing the limits of their behavior, trying to learn what they can and can't do.

Some breeds certainly get a bad image.

My dog is uninterested in kids. When we're at the in-laws with my new niece she usually goes over and sniffs her a bit, then walks away. She may get smacked a bit by my niece, but he's only 10 months old now and when I play with my dog I throw her around a little and drum on her. The kid certainly doesn't do anything more forceful than I do.

Only real problem is any time our dog is near the kid the pit bull doesn't like it and comes after my dog. They've gotten into fights next to the kid which is really worse than either dog going up and poking the kid with their nose.
