Yeah I once had one telling me they had important information about a debt but couldn't tell me unless I verified my full name, DOB, and SS#. I asked him if people actually fell for that, he hung up on me. Sad thing is I know there are many people who do fall for it, so he probably just moved on to the next person.

There absolutely are and it's because they figure since they have a bunch of info up front they must be legit. About six years ago I let a credit card go and it was a decent amount of money. Eventually I started getting the legit calls and the scammers. They said they bought the debt. Like Melena, I asked for their info. If they didn't hang up immediately they'd ask why. I'd say by law I have the right to request in writing verification they owned the debt and as of this point since I'm also verbally requesting it they by law cannot contact me again. Almost all calls went away except from the company who did verify. I paid the lender directly anyways.

It’s been a long fucking day that started at 7am and just got off work from my second job at 11:30 and my damn uber driver thinks his car is a mobile home. Theresa a curved monitor in the back seat , two IPads hanging with Netflix options , led lights everywhere and horrible Christmas decorations. I feel so trapped in the backseat I don’t know why people think this is a good idea.
In his front dash is a fucking Christmas village scene..

if the ride itself is fine and driver is fine, leave a good review but remark on it. "driver was good, prompt, so 5 stars, but with all the christmas stuff and gadgets in the back seat i felt pretty closed in, made the ride pretty uncomfortable."

Recap: We removed the cabinets for new cabinets and counters. After removing the cabinets, we saw the drywall was complete shit. We remove the sink cabinet and the drywall and notice the fridge is leaking and rotting part of the subfloor.

Pulled up the flooring (it's just a laminate) and there is mold that has spread at least a foot in every direction from the rotting spot. Now we'll need to check the framing underneath in the crawlspace. Going to need to replace a good portion of the subfloor and basically all the flooring.

Started putting up new drywall and the wife wants me to run new outlets since the walls are exposed as well as move most of the existing ones.

THIS WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A QUICK THING. Every day there's something new added to the list.
None of the kitchen circuits are up to code which means I have to run a minimum of two new 20 amp circuits, and possibly 3-4. The fridge, 2 lights, and 3 wall outlets all run off one circuit and the microwave, stove, and another outlet run off the second.

The fridge should be on it's own 20 amp service, but I may have to leave the lights on this circuit because I don't know how they're connected and I'm not sure I have access to the second light from the attic.
The microwave and stove can stay on their own circuit if I remove the extra outlet from it, as long as the circuit is already a 20 amp service.
The wall outlets should go on their own 20 amp circuit, and by code, I think they're supposed to go on two separate circuits, but there are only 3-4 wall outlets so I think it'll be okay.
The dishwasher should be on its own 15 amp service.

    This is my nightmare BG.

    Real talk.

I've been doing the work myself, but even still if I have to redo all the cable and breakers I'll be spending almost $600 on that. Probably $350 for new flooring if we go cheaper. Plus we already bought the cabinets and counters.

If we had someone else do the work I can guarantee we'd be looking at $7k+ just for labor.

It's not even a real fixer upper, they just neglected the kitchen apparently and our inspection didn't catch it.

If that's not shitty luck I don't know what is. Or, a shitty inspector.

It's not terrible, and my cousin is a journeyman electrician for an electrical contractor. I can call him with any questions. The scariest part is installing the breakers themselves.

Yeah I can do an outlet or light drywall patchwork but that's about it. My patience for stuff like that is nonexistent. I'm sure I could learn it or actually do house stuff if I needed to but it's better for me to pay and have someone fix it.

    Seriously couldn’t be more accurate.

This is what happens so often during home renovations though. I recall years ago living with my ex in Michigan he had the same idea and pulled up all our kitchen floor and cabinets. It was supposed to be a two month project that turned into a money sink of almost a year. We broke up before it was done though unrelated to it lol.

Oh this isn't going to be a year long project. I have off this coming week so I'm going to be doing as much as I can during the day. I've only been working on it two weekends, but it seems like much longer. I've got 1/4 of the drywall up already as well. Hope to get the subfloor pulled up and replaced Saturday. Cabinets come in Saturday as well. Probably going to run the new electric on Sunday, Monday is Xmas, and I hope to be done with drywall, taping, spackle, priming by Wednesday.

It's not that bad. I've got some roof/ceiling issues but nothing crazy for a home built in 1920 and the roof hasn't been replaced in ages. Bought the house 3 years ago as a foreclosure without inspection. To me, used car shopping is worse.

I woke up to a flat once, had a tree branch in the side of the tire. It was right after a real bad storm, I've got a long dirt driveway, so there was lots of puddles and I picked it up.
