Neat, the overdue Yamato/Ace flashback

When I looked up the species of spider Black Maria is, I was expecting it to be like the largest extinct arachnid in history or something.
Turns out rosamygale grauvogeli maybe only grew about 1cm maximum. Pretty much a tiny tarantula that behaved much the same way today's do.

Anyway, looks like he'll squeeze in Ch 999 & 1000 before the year ends. With the pace right now, I get the feeling Ch 1000 may not end up being terribly significant.

All those Ace flashbacks were great. And just how intertwined all the stories and every's "fate" seems to be. And Luffy wasn't even shown in the chapter, so goddamn hype when he gets to the top floor finally just to find Kaido AND Big Mom waiting for him

Kaido is known for breaking his enemies and forcing them to join his crew. And by pure chance, not only is Kaido not there when Ace goes after him, but Kaido's crew has a Jack, Queen, and King, but no Ace in it!

On it's own, it was a pretty great chapter but there are soooooo many call backs and little details hidden that just makes it that much better.

The titles of chapter 999 and 1000 together say, "The sake I brew while waiting for you, Strawhat Luffy" which is something that Oden wanted to do, not Luffy specifically of course, but the next gen.

The silhouette of Luffy putting on his hat is a callback to how Shanks did it.

Luffy saying the exact same thing at the end of Chapter 1 and Chapter 1000.
