Got some 1 v 1's being setup. Zoro gonna come back and fight King or someone. And This Who's Who story gonna setup Luffy's devil fruit being OP and he'll probably get some kinda powerup when he goes back to fight Kaidou. Like his DF power being awakened like Doflamingo's or something like that

I don't see Luffy getting an awakening this arc. There really isn't any foreshadowing to that power up going on. All his power ups so far have been haki related, I think he'll just smooth out his haki to fight with Kaido, and will start working on the awakening when going to Blackbeard.

If the military considered the gomu gomu no mi notorious or dangerous enough to protect with CP9, that suggests it has a history they didn't want exposed - like how it was a big secret that Roger had a living heir; Sengoku only outed Ace on the execution block.

Theorycrafting, w/e, but I wonder if GGNM was originally Roger's. Are we really to believe the strongest pirate in history wielded no fruit power? It gives credence to why Shanks was so interested in stealing it. Roger died and the fruit grew anew somewhere; bad luck the government found it first, then took extraordinary measures to hide it. The "pirates are meant to swim" excuse for why Shanks never ate it takes on another meaning if the fruit itself represented Roger's living legacy. Giving Luffy the straw hat after he accidentally eats it becomes even more befitting a gesture. I wonder if Teach gave Shanks his scar in an attempt to steal the GGNM.

As far as we know Roger was a natural pirate, just a pure haki monster. He's never been shown using any fruit powers though the chance it's misdirection is obviously there. Had Roger had the fruit, you'd think Rayleigh or Garp would have mentioned it to Luffy (and thus us) already. Granted, Luffy doesn't know his hat belonged Roger as Rayleigh never told him (that we know of) and Shanks hasn't had the chance to either. There might be some other significance to the GGNM though but you'd figure Luffy would have a larger target on his back if it was really that important.

Yeah usually Oda is really good at dropping really subtle hints that come back like 400 chapters later. Really curious to see where he's gonna take this revelation

There's so many damn secrets in the OP world even after all this time it's ridiculous. One Piece, Void Century, Im, the big ass frozen straw hat in Mary Geoise, name of the Ancient Kingdom and why it got destroyed, Will of D, Joy Boy and the backstory of why he apologized, the big ass bridge to "nowhere" that Robin was on, Blackbeard's ability to dual wield fruits, Devil Fruits... jfc lol. Pretty sure I'm still missing some other mysteries that Oda implanted hundreds of chapters ago.

Well there's the remaining ancient weapon(s), the purpose of the Noah, the "bloodstained snake" hakoku can't kill, "location" of the All Blue, the egg on the Oro Jackson, who the fuck Luffy's mom is, why Sakazuki fears Jewelry Bonney, how many immortals the ope ope no mi has created, wtf Enel is doing on the moon, wtf those giant dark things were in the Florian Triangle, how Shanks is just allowed to meet with the Gorosei I guess, location of the Emerald City, wtf Zunesha did to earn his punishment and who enforced it, the Adam & Eve world trees.

Oda is infamous for having binders of data and story notes and character sheets and etc etc that he keeps on hand and is constantly referencing. So yeah, I wouldn't worry about that

Oda has also said he has checked the fandom wiki to make sure things are accurate. You can be sure he's putting in most things deliberately and checking himself multiple times over to make sure he's not forgetting things.

Yeah, Roger named his son after his god damned sword.

So the four known Supreme Grade Meito are now...

• "Ace" (Roger) - whereabouts unknown
• "Yoru" (Mihawk) - with Mihawk, on his person
• "Shodai Kitetsu" (???) - whereabouts unknown
• "Murakumogiri" (Whitebeard) - still plunged into Whitebeard's tombstone following the 2 year timeskip

Wonder if any of the other 8 are in Wano. Would be neat if Zoro could snag one or three.
