Wow, I was actually in the camp that some of it was artistic choice, but no -- Oda has issued a formal apology for not finishing Ch 1098 on time.

I went back and read it again, and yeah, there's no way stuff like this is intentional: the gridlines, the unfinished models.

Oda is SO GOOD at these bittersweet moments. Kills me. The imagery of these 5 Nika dancing is just so great.
Bonney and Kuma's story is so tragic and unexpected. I really thought the crew was going to zip in to Egghead, grab VP, and book it to Elbaf, but here we are months later in one of the most sentimental and sad subplots of the entire canon. Three cheers.
